[ it's rare for adam to have enough cash to spare for a proper dinner, inasmuch as denny's counts for 'proper' and 'dinner' when it's practically 3:00 am to the second. but after a night of tailing some rich c-suite type to some seedy motel with a telescopic camera lens aimed at the window, he feels he's due a nice hot meal. maybe a shake or two, some fries. something that's not burnt to crisp by a microwave, at the very least. ]

Proper meal being used loosely here given he's just munching on some waffles and toast, with a cup of coffee AND a shake on the side, because he felt he deserved something. Just as he was taking another bite of his food, he raised a brow at the other, quite familiar though-he-wouldn't-know-him man.]

He did decided to treat himself with the money he's saved up for himself in a secret compartment where not even Nabiki or his old man could find his cash.

[It's late, and Mizuki needs to make more progress on this case she's on before she reports in tomorrow. She's stuck right now, and hungry, so she's here to focus on both her mind and her stomach.

Aiba has this neat little feature where she can recreate a crime scene virtually and allow Mizuki to explore it just by closing her eyes. It's what she's doing right now, going over every nook and cranny to see if she can find any other clues.

But, well. There's a reason she usually does it when she's by herself. Turns out, she decided to do it in the process of eating, so she's got her mouth open with a forkful of pancake halfway to it. For anyone who might be watching her, she's been frozen like that for a good ten minutes now.]

[ She really had to stop taking on so many late night assignments - but even if she found the food somewhat questionable at times and certainly fattening, she kept coming back, since it was one of the few places nearby that were open this late.

She looked a bit of a sight though, almost slouched in her booth tiredly, with a few scratches and cuts, her hair a bit mussed with a stick or two caught in her hair, with a plate of mozzarella sticks, a milkshake and currently studying a round treat in her hand. ]

I never thought about it before, but why are these called strawberry pancake puppies of all things...

But at least it does give Oeznik the night off, again, and at least Zemo gets his own questionable tastes satiated without any side-eyeing.

"You should at least have more bacon. Maybe it will cut through some of that rather impressive amount of sugar you're consuming."
