I don't really care much for fortunes if I'm honest, it just seemed like something people cling to.

(He rather change things himself than rely on something else to tell him if things would work out or not. That's always been his perspective even as he leaves the cookie for her and rips apart the slip of paper she read, maybe she'll get a good fortune this time.
