[ either role. in his canon, neuvillette is the chief justice of a nation with the power to manipulate water, which-- while he's more than capable of combat and taking care of himself-- could have him require a bodyguard, if only to keep up appearances. otherwise, he can also play protector to someone he is the right-hand man of. alternatively (spoilers for genshin 4.1, please highlight text to view): as a sovereign dragon, he could easily protect a king / queen / other such ruler and their nation from war and enemies. i like to think he has human - semi-draconic - full dragon forms respectively, with the dragon bit usually kept secret, but i'm happy to discuss scenarios where it's known he's a dragon and the human-shaped bit is reserved for those he cares for. i'm easy!

[I was thinking maybe Neuvillette having to travel somewhere and a mix of knights/guards and mercenary deployed to accompany him. Wriothesley being a mercenary who was hired to help protect, but hired full time for his skill or a knight who has been working hard to go up the ranks. I'm also happy for shipping or platonic (I am quite fond of Neuvithesley). Tagging speed isn't an issue!]
[Leaning more towards Protector if we're going a canon route, considering she's the Dandelion Knight of Mondstadt. But, she could be the protected, especially if injured or visiting one of the other countries... Also open to AU setups!]
[ the bodyguard. for a shipping scenario, i'd love to do something where the guarded is making use of the opportunity to secretly go on a date either with or without his prior awareness — played for fluff if assuming an established relationship and played for a mix of comedy/fluff if assuming they haven't gotten together yet (watch him go ? and overthink social cues).
for either shipping or gen, give him your troublemakers... give him your wards who don't want to be warded!! he'll make it work somehow, even if he has to physically scruff them by the neck and dangle them slightly off the ground at all times. or give him your shy and somewhat rattled ones, he can be nice (kind of) (in his own way).
