The Abrupt Kissing Meme

 

 

Plain and simple: your character is being kissed. Abruptly. How did this happen? Were they talking too much to the point where it was the only way to shut them up? Was someone bidding adieu or just not able to hold in their feelings? Or was this some CPR class gone bad? More importantly—how do they react?

How this works:
→ Leave a comment with the usual information in the subject line: character name, fandom. Any preferences, including what you don't want, should be included as well. Congratulations, your character is being kissed by whoever tags them!
→ Tag around.
→ Feel free to roll RNG (1-9) if you cannot come up with scenarios of your own.

[They're still standing close together, Reid panting slightly to catch his breath. His lips are still tingling.]

I.. uh.. w-what do you think?

Well, I - I don't know. Did you - get the results you were hoping for?

[ Cue a slight nudging up of her glasses again. ]

I.. um.. think there was a release in brain chemicals, yes. An upsurge in the amount of serotonin, perhaps. I'd have to.. test my blood..

[She's doing that nudging thing again and he finds it incredibly attractive. Before he knows what he's doing, he's grabbing her and pressing his lips to hers again.]

Do you think we should get a - mmph.

[ That sound is the surprised one she makes when he interrupts her mid-sentence, pulling her in for another kiss. She tenses reflexively, and then relaxes, slowly winding her arms around his neck and responding with a soft sigh. ]

[Spencer pulls her in, deepening the kiss. It feels like every chemical in his brain is being released at the same time, like he's never felt so good in his entire life. Then reality hits and he pulls back, gasping for air.]

I-I'm sorry...

[ She'd been half-ready to go back in for more when he'd pulled away, and now she can't seem to keep her gaze from dropping to his lips before she tries to look anywhere but in that direction. ]

That was um.. that was inappropriate. T-That wasn't part of the experiment.

[But she had kissed him back, it seemed. Either way, that didn't make it inappropriate. They were supposed to kiss as part of the experiment. That was it.]

[ She clears her throat quietly, watching him tentatively. If anything, she's in favor of more in the name of science, but she tries not to sound too hopeful. ]

I-I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry.

[And yet he wanted to again. Maybe it's the serotonin?]

[ And now her face falls slightly. Was this all just an experiment? Did he really not want to kiss her just for the sole purpose of kissing her? ]

[Spencer runs his hands through his hair, terrified that he's offended her.]

I'm sorry. I-I was coming on to you and I shouldn't have done that. It was supposed to be...

[He looks up and notes the expression on her face. That's not anger or offense.]

Wait - you were?

[ She looks up, confused and - maybe a little flattered, but that's not the point. Or maybe it is. ]

I.. um.. think so.

[He shakes his head, scared to say what he's about to. Spencer finds that he can't look at her face.]

I kissed you and.. I.. liked it.. so I wanted to kiss you again.

Well, I wanted it too - wanted to kiss you, and, um - wanted you to kiss me, so.

[ She glances down at her hands, realizing she's wringing them since she isn't doing anything else with them at the moment. ]

I mean, you - that was some kiss, actually.

[He looks up finally, to find that she's now looking at her hands.]

Really?

Well, yeah. Really.

{ When she looks up herself, it's to smile somewhat sheepishly, shrugging one shoulder. ]

[He's blushing profusely now, but there's a smile on his face too.]

You're.. um.. attractive, Felicity.

[ She flushes a light pink behind her glasses, grinning broadly. ]

Well, you're not so bad yourself, Dr. Reid.

[Cue awkward silence. Reid hardly ever gets to this point, so now he has no idea what to do.]

We could.. um.. get coffee.. and talk about our findings in the experiment.
