The Be My Therapist Meme

Your characters have been trapped in a strange but comfortable room, with a big desk and couch, and now have to spend some time either talking about their problems or listening to other people's problems and trying to give good advice. Both is fine, too.

The room itself will compel them to at least try to play those roles, and will only release them after they do what it wants them to do.

The problems can be silly or serious, deep or shallow, it's all up to you.

[The List Of Possible Problems]

1. Small but still sucky problems that are just bothersome- They've gotten bad grades at school, they have a bad hair day, they fought with a friend about something really silly, etc etc.

2. Love, relationships and family problems - They're fighitng with their SO, they think their spouse might be cheating on them, they have Mother/Father Issues, their siblings are their worst enemy, etc etc.

3. Lifechanging problems - They flunked out of school, they find out they have superpowers, they find out they are the only one who can pilot a super robot, etc etc.

4. 'Our world as we know it is in danger' type problems - The Dark Lord is raising and is trying to take over their world, they have zombie problems, the Evil Space Empire is coming for their planet, their experiments with time travel ended up unraveling reality, etc etc.

5. Work related problems - They have to deal with the boss from hell, how are they supposed to defend the Earth with all those budget cuts, etc etc

6. Money problems - They have to deal with budgeting, inheritance problems, etc etc. Or maybe they just can't afford that fancy car...

7. Trauma related problems - Something bad happened to them, be it the deaths of important people or being trapped in a warzone or anything else, and they have to deal with the resulting trauma.

8. Really cracky problems - I hate my superheroine uniform, my brother always chews my slippers when he turns into a werewolf and I wish he'd stop, etc etc.

9. Something else

[How To]

1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc.)

2. Please choose your character's role - Therapist (Counsellor) or Client - and set the first scene. Setting the scenes for both is fine, too. (It is also all right for the characters to take turns being the therapist and the client, if that's what you want to do)

[ Silhouette folded her arms as she sat in the Therapist's chair, glancing about the room. Listening to other peoples' problems was not her strong point, considering she was even poorer at comforting others... Her advice was always cold and to the point. It was objective, and there wasn't any nice way of saying it.

It pretty much came down to "get over it". She herself had to work through her own problems, she didn't have time to sit around talking about them. (Although she couldn't remember her past for the longest time so there was that.) It bothered her to see others wallowing in their problems...

Feeling irritated, she stood up, looking at her client list. ]

Putting on her best serious face, she takes up a pen that looks a lot like a Twizzler like her hair tie. Acting as if she's prepared to write onto the small tablet she holds. It might be a Pop-Tart.

"Now, tell me. What brings you here today?" Asked in her best serious, grown up tones.

Lying back on the sofa which seems almost giant compared to him, the frowning candy citizen lets out a long, deep sigh.

"Everything." he replies in a way that sounds more like a groan than a statement.

If you want the worst therapist ever, he's your guy. He also probably needs rather a lot of therapy himself. He's got anger management issues. And many other issues. Scenes below, but feel free to come up with something else if you want!

1. Patient

[ Being one of Zeus' enforcers comes with a lot of benefits, but it is not without its drawbacks. Standing around watching someone pretty much rule the world is not exactly a pleasant experience when you are the literal embodiment of envy. It can be the cause of... tension.

It also means you have to do what the boss says, even when it means getting locked up in a room until you talk about your Feelings.

Yeah, Zelos is not a very happy camper at the moment and has managed to perfect the art of sulkily lying on a couch. ]

[ Possibly also true. Pardon the slight potty-mouth, Zelos is at times prone to colorful language. ]

2. Therapist

[ He's seated behind the desk, giving his new "patient" an incredulous look. This must be one of the more creative punishments he's ever received for misbehaving. ]

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

[ But then a small, unpleasant smile takes shape on his face. This could possibly be rather a lot of fun. He does enjoy the misery of others rather a lot, and he enjoys making it worse even more. Perhaps he's actually being rewarded for something. Or the boss just doesn't know him as well as he thinks he does. ]

[people got second opinions all the time. It's not that Will doesn't trust Dr. Lecter, but he can't help but hope that there is some other explanation for what's happening to him. Will knows he isn't stable, but it's not that kind of unstable. So he goes to someone else, someone he doesn't have personal connections with. Surely an objective opinion will give him a different story, right?]

[All the victims of the murderer Joan and Sherlock are trying to identify had been in long-term psychotherapy. They each had different psychiatrists, so the likelihood that their killer is a doctor seems slim, but it's almost certainly someone with contact with the psychiatric community. So Joan, being the former doctor, went undercover.

It's hard to start a practice when you're not playacting, so all the clients Joan has seen have been steered her way by their associates, NYPD mostly. That's the case with this next client. All she knows is that he works with the FBI, and someone in the precinct recommended Joan to him when he was looking for a psychiatrist in the city.
