Love must have a certain passion behind it, to be sure, but not all passions are the same. The two of you love each other, and certainly romantically - or at least you're working on realizing that - and you're...not sexually intimate, or not in the way many would suspect. You're not ready for that yet, you're following the rules of you're society, you want them to know how serious you are, you're too busy or uninterested, you don't want to "dishonor" them in any way, or that's simply how both of you are comfortable: there are a number of reasons why you'd choose a romance of chastity, and none of them make the feelings between you any less valid.

Of course, no sexual intimacy doesn't mean no intimacy at all. Holding hands, resting of heads on shoulders, touching, kissing on other places than the mouth, spending time together, confessions, or giving gifts can show your emotions towards each other just as easily. You may only want to do these things away from the prying eyes of others, however. And, understandably, you might want to take those milestones slowly and carefully, the same way your relationship has blossomed.

...especially for confessions. For the type of love you two share, you don't want to admit to anything too idly.

How to Play

I wanted to make a meme like this because I thought the idea was darling and fresh, and it could apply to so many types of characters! It's the bread and butter for fantasy types, would be good for kids and the younger character sets, and despite how "badass" they are, it's pretty much shounen idiots to a T. There's very little romance proper in those canons, and it's all understated and unspoken if it's there at all. For a better write-up about all this, check out the TVTropes page!

Guinevere asked me to pick you up. [ Who names their child that in this day in age - it's fine. Lancelot is called Lancelot still in the Modern era, and on this day he has come to chauffeur her around after Guinevere had asked. He is a professional body guard that was demoted from his Knight status, by his own request. An ex-knight that worked for the royal English Family. Now a limo driver and body guard, a very attractive and highly sought out driver, companion, and body guard. ]

I insisted too, [ A beat. ] I doubt anyone else would want to deal with your attitude.

[ Why was she being picked up without her consent? Grumbling, Vespera was about to go off until Lancelot said that he insisted but then opened his big mouth about her attitude. It wasn't her fault that she was born with this personality type. ]

Is that so? [ She sighs. ] Honestly, you need to start turning Guinevere's requests down. You have no reasons to pick up a troublesome person like myself.

[ At least she was self-aware, that was the first step.

ALSO YOUR HANDSOME FACE, OUTFIT, AND ATTITUDE WAS TOO MUCH RIGHT NOW!!! ]

Youre right. [ Lancelot does not so much as hesitate in saying that, but he also does not waft over his next statement: ] But I insisted anyway.

[ The ex knight moves, as if to make light and certain that whatever line of thinking would evolve any further of that would not come to be. He adjusts himself so that he is in front of her and opens the door waiting for her to walk through. ]

Where are you going for the day, I did not look at your schedule.

...

[ Well, since this change appear before her, it would be a waste not to use it. What in the world was that woman thinking, just handing Lancelot off to her like this, and what was this man thinking just insisting on picking her up?

Vespera truly could never understand the thoughts of these two. Complete enigmas. ]

A date.

[ With who? With Lancelot, of course, since he is now escorting her today. She's not going to tell him that. ]

I'm at work. [ He responds curtly, with a tone of annoyance to it, but there's a part of him that feels a bit taken aback by what she says. It doesn't show on his face, just in the momentary pause he has before sharply answering her. ] My Lady, I do take my job seriously.

[ He didn't say no though. ]

I'm more than aware, Sir Lancelot.

[ Her heart felt light, and her smile was bright. She planned to go on a date with Lancelot, yet it might look like harassment on his end. Oh well, what he doesn't know isn't going to hurt him. He was still going to follow her around regardless. ]

Chop chop, my date can't be waiting for too long.

[ WHATEVER!! Lancelot follows after her, riding her heel until they come to any doors he would thus open. Or the car they were currently standing before, ]

Is there anything I should call for or prepare - and have you mind of where we are going to?

[ As expected of this stupid man, he can't leave her alone for some reason. WELL GOOD FOR HER, SHE CAN LEASH LANCELOT TO HERSELF NOW! ]

A lake. A boat. Not a large one, just a small one with rows. [ She paused. ] Or we can take the ones shaped like a duck and pedal together.

[ Lancelot means to answer, but then her response thereafter earns her a laugh exhaled through his nose. ]

No. [ He waits for her to be seated, peering down at her from above as he leans slightly to look down at her. ] A rowboat will do just fine.

[ Can her heart chill out with the beating? She wasn't expecting him to laugh, even if it was directly at her. Cheeks tinted red, Vespera sat down and tried to calm herself, and the only way for her to calm down was to simply--]

Just so you know, I'm taking you along with me because you're already here, and I'm doing research.

[ Casually sabotage herself.

She wanted to cry, but there was no way she wanted Lancelot to truly know that he had her damn heart in a vice grip, and who knows what he would do with that knowledge?]

No need, I know how to row a boat. I own a lake house and a sailboat. [ With her promptly in the car, he shuts it without letting her speak further on the subject of boats, or his ability to row one. He moves to the front, as he needs and will prepare the car on its way to go. He only moves the window between them down briefly for a question - ] Do you have a Lake in Mind you wish to go to?

[ She was supposed to hide her feelings from Lancelot, but it was impossible to hide her happiness. She was beaming with joy. ] Fairy Lake! [ Oh god, how she announced that made her sound like a little girl. This is why Lancelot won't take her seriously. Acting so much like a brat and little kid. ]

Ahem-it's a romantic date spot supposedly.

[ That and, he mostly doesn't take himself seriously. The excitement of her voice does not go unnoticed or ignored, he gives her the short-lasting look of someone who - seems to have mixed feelings about it. Just a lingering look, watching before he - ]

Sure. [ His response is made, and the window goes back up with a roll of his eyes. He will remain quiet, as someone who doesn't exactly talk much but also because he enjoys driving. ] Get comfortable it will take us a bit.

[ What the hell was that look for? That reply? WAIT DID HE ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP SO HE DOESN'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO HER TALK!? Vespera covered her face with her hands as she fell over in her seat and began to roll around, feeling flustered. ]

... [ Vespera might as well think of some questions to ambush Lancelot later. ] Wake me up when we get there.

[ HE DID HE HATES TALKING LEAVE HIM ALONE. Lancelot is already making calls and adjustments, she may hear him speaking lowly and in an instructive manner on what is to be done and what he expects when he arrives at Fairy Lake. It is quiet after a while, and he is comforted thinking about nothing in particular but doing his job at the moment.

Inevitably they come to a halt. He rises from the car and moves over to the door, where he opens it and looks down at her, wondering if she is taking a nap actually - ]
