It's not what Kai meant to say, that much is clear by the faltering smile and sideways glance from confused golden eyes. The bar around them is conveniently loud enough that he probably can turn this around, maybe he wasn't heard over the commotion.

"Buy you a drink?" The smile returns, just as crooked and rueful as it begun and Kai leans against the bar. Maybe there's still hope for his ability to control whatever comes out of his mouth. He's definitely not that drunk.
