Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together. The game is based on the noun phrase word association, meaning "stimulation of an associative pattern by a word" or "the connection and production of other words in response to a given word, done spontaneously as a game, creative technique, or in a psychiatric evaluation."

Do you find the bar so terribly high, brother?
pirateangelbaby: (I feel your pain)

If all that is needed to be a better king is to be a good man, then perhaps not. But there are days when I look at what remains of Asgard and I cannot help but remember how many of us there once were.

[A lingering pause, masked poorly by a careful consideration of his own nails. There's a delicacy to earnestness that always sits a bit uncomfortably in Loki's shoulders.]

Is that not what makes a good king? To be unbowed in remembering?

[Thor looks at him, his expression more openly pensive.]

A good king is one whose people prosper under his lead.

A good king is one who leads his people to prosperity when they find themselves short of it.

Then I suppose only time will tell.

What, no grating over-confidence?

[Time now to pick all the non-existent lint off his cuffs.]

Is this not exactly what you're for?
pirateangelbaby: (Paying attention)

[Thor's smile is small and insincere. He crosses his arms casually across his chest.]

Sorry to disappoint, brother.
annarr: (gonna make your glasses steam)

Oh, not at all. You've a long way to go yet before you unseat me as family disappointment. Barely any darkness to choke from your soul even when you're insisting on being gloomy.
pirateangelbaby: (Casual)

[The look Thor gives him is withering, tinged with mild amusement.]

Oh, my apologies. I didn't realize I was taking over your pity party.
annarr: (I could wear my Louis Vuitton)

It's just that mine are so much more interesting and well-deserved.

[But, you know. A light bump of one of Loki's elbows against one of Thor's.]

If it's your place to be king, it's mine to be dour and doubting. That's only fair.
pirateangelbaby: (Probably not to be honest)

[personal profile] pirateangelbaby 2023-09-22 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
[A small smile touches Thor's lips at the bump against his arm, a reciprocating sway brings his own elbow back to touch Loki's in turn.]

I think every king should have one of those, if you ask me. Otherwise no one's going to tell him when he's doing something stupid.
annarr: (double up that sunscreen)

[Better. Certainly better enough for the short snap of a laugh.]

Thank goodness you'll always have me.

[Probably. Conceptually. Who knows.]
