Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together. It's--really? [He'll chalk that up, pettily, as a win, but now he has to wonder actually what yuletide is, if he really only knows the word from...carols. They're not the same thing??] Uh, winter holiday, real big commercially, ostensibly religious but has kinda just become so widespread that it's really more secular these days. Gift-giving, trees with lights, stockings hung by the chimney with care sort of thing.

So it's something like Yule; with the gift giving and it being set during the winter. [Thinking about the similarities in what he was just told.]

Trees are decorated with candles and ornaments as a family activity and I suppose there are specific Yule markets leading up to the day of festivities that normally revolve around any children in the family.

I think a lot of the traditions got ripped from the pagan side of things anyway. Which Yule might be? You guys influenced a lot of shit in Norway.
