Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together. The game is based on the noun phrase word association, meaning "stimulation of an associative pattern by a word" or "the connection and production of other words in response to a given word, done spontaneously as a game, creative technique, or in a psychiatric evaluation." ~ our lord and saviour wikipedia GUIDELINES
② include a word of your choice and optionally the definition in the body of your comment. -- visit the random word generator if you need help! ③ other characters will reply with the first word their character associates with the one you chose. ④ continue back and forth until one of you just has to know the story behind an answer. |

[He snickers along with her, clearly not being serious about any of his suggestions.]
It's true that a dedicated offering is best, but when you're hard up you take what you can get. As for not being near each other... Here! [He hands over a handwritten business card with his name and cellphone number on it.] All you have to do is make a wish to me and I'll hear it!
no subject
..'Make a wish to you'? That .. no offense, but that sounds a little shady. What do you mean 'make a wish'?
[ She's read all those genie and monkey's paws books! ... okay she heard about them. ]
no subject
[He taps on the "Delivery God" part of his card, grinning.]
I'll hear your prayer and come to answer it if it's within my ability to do so. And if you offer enough.
no subject
[ Hrrmmm... studying the delivery card still with skepticism. He COULD be legit but.. what kind of God gave out business cards and granted wishes? ]
So..enough of ... what, food? Money?
[ She almost jokingly adds "women?' to the list, but she ..doesn't think she wants to know. ]
no subject
[Given how many gods there are it should stand to reason that not every one can cover everything, but it's good to be clear on these matters.]
Money, of course! [He holds up a hand with fingers outstretched.] It's got to be five..... yen!
[So dramatic.]
no subject
What do you get out of it? It feels like kind of an uneven deal as it stands. Only having to spend five yen to have your wish or request fulfilled? Or at least as close to it as you can get?
no subject
More repeat customers who'll sing my praises and tell their friends about me! You gotta build up a network before you start upping your rates. Not too many people are willing to spend big on a god they've never heard of, you know?
[It wounds his pride to admit as much, but it's the truth.]
no subject
Yeah.. I can certainly understand that. I've gone through that - actually.. [ She tapped her finger against her lips thoughtfully. ACTUALLY if he was legit, her channel had over a hundred thousand subscribers right now, and it was still growing - she could tell her fans and get the word out if he wanted. BUT that would depend entirely on if he wasn't just one big scam. ]
So what's your biggest success story?
no subject
Really? How did you--
[That's about as far as he gets before being hit with her question. And it tanks his mood just as quickly as it had risen. Most of his "success" stories involve things he'd rather not admit or think about, despite the fact there's no getting around that he did them. Now more mellowed out, he works to think of a positive success.]
Well, I stopped some guy from committing suicide. [Never mind that in the process he'd accidentally knocked the guy off the building he'd been standing on top of. But he won't go into that.]
no subject
But that's amazing - you should be happy about that.
It's important to not let the times that you aren't able to get new fans, get you down. It's like I was mentioning to you earlier - that I have a similar situation. I run a B-cube channel - although admittedly I haven't been able to make as many videos lately. But I had a lot of trouble getting attention and followers at the beginning.
A few other B-cubers gave me tips and helped me with my videos, and did collabs with me, and now my channel is doing pretty well. It's not quite at the number I want it to be yet though, so I just have to keep working at it.

It's just that for me as a god, it's difficult to remain in people's memories. I usually fade from their mind in short order once I'm done doing the job for them. That's just the nature of being a small-time deity with no presence or shrine to worship at.
[He states it matter-of-factly, but there's still a mellowness to his voice. Clearly it's something that bothers him. Though he does perk up at the mention of collaborations.]
Collabs, huh? Maybe that's what I need-- The support of someone with a bigger shrine to help give me a boost.
[He mulls this idea over for a minute, then suddenly stands bolt upright like he's been struck by lightning. Of course! Why didn't he see this before?!]
Or the thing to do is to start my own B-cube channel and become a star that way! I could reach millions with the right material! I should give it a shot! Woohoo!
no subject
That's a good idea! [ Fortunately she's not the sort to be threatened by a potential rival - she had a feeling her fanbase and his would be vastly different, and even better, she wasn't anything like Labilia. Nor would she ever want to be. ]
I could help you set up a channel and promote you to the fans I have too to help get you started.

Yeeaaah! You're the best, er-- I don't think we've properly exchanged names yet, have we? Aside from my business card, anyway. I'm the delivery god, Yato! Pleasure to make your acquaintance, miss!
no subject
Nice to meet you Yato, I'm Rebecca - [ She thinks a moment. ]
Oh, I don't have a business card, but here - [ She did have a small pad with her in her back pocket, so she carefully reached into her skirt pocket and took out the pencil and paper, jotting her channel, her contact info and name before passing it back to him. ]
Maybe I *should* start carrying around some kind of business card too, heh.
no subject
[Late an introduction as it is. He takes the piece of paper, looking over the information before carefully pocketing it for future reference.]
That wouldn't be such a bad idea! You seem popular enough to warrant having proper business cards for handing out to potential viewers. It saves the need to carry around paper and pencil, that's for sure.
no subject
Aww, well that's definitely one of my goals. Although I could just display it, that wouldn't help as far as writing it down. I don't run into too many people who are actually interested in the B-Cube Network though, so I guess I never really thought about making cards.
no subject
Really? I would've thought it'd be more mainstream since it sounds like an interesting job or hobby to have. I'm getting excited just thinking about starting my own channel!
[He can bring Yatoism to the good folks online and rack up tens of thousands of viewers, bringing good luck to them all!]
no subject
Well, it is, but it's definitely not easy. You can't just sit back and expect people to subscribe - you have to make things interesting and fun, or entertaining in some way, or if it's something educational or informative, then you have to make sure it's not boring. Viewers are really fickle so it might be hard to grow your channel - or keep them.
no subject
Yeah, there's bound to be a lot of channels vying for people's attention at any given moment. I think I could make the cutting part flashy enough, it's just a matter of keeping it from getting too boring see the same sort of thing over and over again.
no subject
Yeah - there are alot of entertainment channels, educational ones don't really get that much attention from a certain crowd. You should probably think on how to make your presentation - you don't necessarily have to stick to one thing. I do a bunch of things for my channel because - like you said, doing the same thing over and over will just stagnate and people will wander to other things.
But I'll help you however I can!
no subject
I can imagine that - not everybody is looking to learn things, but everyone wants to be entertained or amused. Hey, that's not a bad idea, I could cute through silly things or stuff that'd be interesting to see an interior view of! What sort of things would you like to see the insides of?
no subject
Yeah, exactly. That could work certainly though! Silly things to draw in the attention of others, and something that people don't normally get to see -- ah, the interior view? Uh... hrrm...
I've actually never really thought about it... interior view.. interior view... [ She might need a bit on that one. ]
