Sometimes you just crave a gentle, loving touch...
and sometimes, you want to shake someone til the change flies out of their pockets.

1. Drag them by the arm; hopefully no square dancing will ensue, because this isn't the wanton cruelty meme.


2. Grab them by the front of their shirt, possibly shoving them back. Also optional: shouting in their face.


3. Take them by the hips to carefully move them out of your way.


4. Smack them upside the head and deal with the repercussions.


5. Grip them by the back of the neck like a reenactment of a cat with kittens.


6. Put a hand on their back to steer them somewhere.


7. Point sternly at a chair (adverb negotiable) and tell them to sit down.


8. Push them back down when they try to get out of bed (perhaps involving illness, injury, or sleep deprivation).


9. Press a finger to their lips to shut them up.


10. Put a hand on their knee while sitting next to them, to discourage them from standing up.


11. Slap their hand away from something they shouldn't touch.


12. Grab their hair (or tie, or whatever) and yank.


13. Slam a door shut before they can leave the room. Alternatively: IN THEIR FACE.


14. Physically pick them up and carry them.


15. Grip their jaw to force eye contact.


16. Pin them with their arms behind their back, like you're the next Bruce Willis.


17. Slam them into a wall. Ouch.


18. Wrestle/pin them to the ground like this is WWE.


19. Trip them, because you are literally or figuratively seven years old.


20. Engage in an elaborate, overly aggressive, or perhaps secret handshake.

[There's a reason why the apothecary would get scratched up by the feral cats he'd come across during his childhood. (Even when Zeph warned him.) But he never heeded the warning until it was too late or he didn't care cause he was just happy to help that cat that needed help.

And Therion was as elusive as those street cats whether he was injured or at his best. (Even would try hide his illness or injuries like one.) While the thief wouldn't really "tear up" Alfyn when the blonde had to give his traveling companion any medical attention, Therion would refuse for a bit until he'd realized Alfyn wasn't going to budge until he let the apothecary bandage him up or drink the bottled concoction he made for him.

It had been two days since Alfyn treated a wound and Therion's high fever from said wound infection. And he wanted a proper look to see if the thief was on track for recovery. If he had to wrangle and keep this guy still to look at him, then so be it. It was a surprise to see Therion out of his room at the inn they'd all been staying at to wait for their companion's recovery. Alfyn will probably regret doing this to a thief who might not appreciate being sneaked up on, but he picks up the thief from behind when he spots Therion.]

You're up to bein' up and about after the scare you gave me the past night? At least let me finish makin' your next dose 'til you do that, yeah?
