1. proposal {
1. park - you've been planning this proposal for awhile and have taken your sweetheart to a nice secluded area in the park. are they going to say yes or leave you in the dust?
2. house - dimmed lights, candles, home made dinner. it's obvious you've fixed yourself up for something tonight. let's see if your lover catches on before the question is popped.
3. public event - perhaps you're one who wants to gain a lot of attention; maybe your significant other doesn't as much. either way, this goes from writing their message in the sky with an airplane to something like a flash mob ensemble with others involved.
4. restaurant - nothing romantic like taking them out somewhere ritzy and hiding the rings in that glass of expensive wine.
5. car - you've driven them somewhere nostalgic or meaningful either to you or each other, or perhaps just a good view overlooking the city cause maybe you had no other idea how to do it or couldn't afford anything else.
2. marriage {
1. traditional - both parties have agreed and said yes, and everything goes well just like in the fairy tales you've always dreamed of.
2. arranged - you had no say so in this but somebody else like your parents did. you've never seen this person before until you walk down the aisle. what are your thoughts? are you nervous? what if you two don't get along? looks like you have to deal with it either way. enjoy?
3. elope - nothing fancy. you know, they do make drive thru chapels or perhaps you're just going to experience the excitement of meeting up at the court. all and all, it doesn't matter, just so you have your sweetheart to yourself.
4. shotgun - congrats, somebody is pregnant. there's only one more thing left to do now..
5. disaster - looks like somebody forgot the rings! never mind the fact the maid of honor is having a wardrobe malfunction or that soon to be father in law is causing a scene of some sort.
3. after marriage {
1. honeymoon night - self explanatory! come on, you know what this means. it just wouldn't be the same without this option.
2. new addition - it could be a pregnancy or bringing home a new child, or something as simple as a new pet goldfish.
3. house purchase - after months of living in a trashy apartment, you're both about to sign the dotted line and move into your new place.
4. argument - deep, relationship sort of arguments or something petty like who drank all the milk; it's up to you!
5. divorce - somebody has had enough of this and is ready to move on. how will it all go down?

[ This is what he got for going straight home to start up something for dinner, wasn't it? Had he simply gone to retrieve his alien partner and made sure that he came right back to their new apartment instead of wandering the streets and finding things that he shouldn't.
But he had really been craving something home cooked instead of dealing with New York City "Mexican" food that wasn't quite what he'd grown up with, and wasn't quite as authentic as he wanted it to be. Clearly, when all food options for lazy ass young men had been worn out, it was time to not be a lazy bastard and cook on his own. Julio looks up from his pepper chopping and nearly cuts his finger on the next cut, looking at the cat Star has oh so humbly brought in to their home. ]
.... What the hell is that? We can't keep that! Star - you really shouldn't pick up cats like that and bring them here. He might have fleas!

[He huffs defensively, setting the feline gingerly down to the side. The cat takes no time in just wandering forward and lying down on the floor. Yup.
Star gestures towards the cat as he stands, and puts his other hand to his chest. It's clearly very dramatic, and also clearly something he learned watching those feel good movies about being homeward bound or perhaps even Air Bud.]
We've bonded, Julio. He truly has a good heart. See, he is not even disruptive. [yet] I know it is possibly nothing for you--but I have never even had the opportunity to care for a pet.
no subject
Yeah you could have - it's as easy as scaring the other cats off and walking away... [ Julio sighs, dropping the knife and resisting the urge to pinch his nose in irritation. Normally he might, but pepper juice to the eyes was not at all what he wanted to do right now. In fact, that might just make the night entirely unrepairable.
Instead he fixes his new husband with an exasperated stare, too used to his dramatics to be very surprised. ]
Yeah, he's probably also tired, underfed, and whatever else. Maybe got a few blood suckers taking the energy out of him. But cats are assholes, Star - we can't just - [ Oy vey. Of course Star had never had a pet. ]
You do know you need to train that thing to use a litter box as a bathroom, right? A litter box we don't have. We also don't have any of the shit to stop it from scratching up all this new fucking furniture we spent a small fortune on, or food.
Dios mío, Gaveedra...

Yes! I have seen a good amount of cat caretaking television. I, however, couldn't get the supplies like this. They wouldn't allow me in with him.
We need a flea bath, a litter box, and food and water bowls as well as the food and water, litter, and such. If you would like, I could go get these things while you finish with supper, if you don't mind staying with him. I realize this is an inconvenience, and I am sorry. Cats inherently know to use litter, though, I've heard!

This thing could be completely feral, Star! And if it starts pissing on everything it's out. And no amount of pouting from you is gonna stop it or me. [ He'd had his fair share of cats as a kid - granted they'd been those expensive hairless ones just because they could afford it, but still. A cat was a cat and he'd had enough to know that he preferred dogs (and not chihuahuas). Julio presses his palm to his face, sure to keep his fingers away from his eyes, counting to ten and reminding himself that he'd agreed to marry him.
.. And that Star had every chance of getting a little over excited about things and bringing home.. flea ridden cats. ]
Yeah it's so inherent you have to teach them as babies. [ Oh, so much sarcasm. ] Whatever, Star. Just make it fast. If the thing swipes at me it's out, though.

I will return within the hour! Thank you, Julio. [He ducks in and kisses the other man on the cheek sweetly, wrapping his hands around the other's waist in a loose hug. He can't hide the grin, because the one way to make sure Rictor likes something is make sure he absolutely hates it at first. Just look at Layla!]
You are the best! The absolute best.

Or it's just a shitty fighter. [ And no, Shatterstar, that was not an invitation to make it any better of a cat fighter, okay? The Mexican simply grimaces through Star's kiss on the cheek and his praises, too busy pouting and wondering how the hell he got in to these situations to really respond in a constructive way to his partner.
He'd done this to himself, marrying Shatterstar, hadn't he? ]
Just go and get the shit you need, Star. [ HUFF PUFF. ] If I burn any more food because you're distracting me the super's head might explode.

In the meantime, the courageous feline mostly naps--looks like the little guy had a hard day. Of course, this probably doesn't mean well with the fleas, but hopefully it wasn't going to be an unmitigated buggy disaster.]

[ Too bad Rictor's probably had a little too much sex and engaged in a lot too much debauchery to be considered for sainthood, as well intended as that candidacy may be. Julio keeps a wary eye on the cat as he continues cooking, only really leaving the kitchen to open their balcony door to pull the screen across, letting heat out of the kitchen and fresh summer air in.
.. At least the cat stays put. That way he doesn't have to worry about wrangling the thing so it doesn't get any possible creepy-crawleys in their furniture. By the time Shatterstar gets back, the cat will have only moved to curl up under the ledge of their island, and Julio will be nearly finished dinner, listening to the radio on a low volume. ]

He seems to want to make good on this, and he sidles in close to the other man. One hand finds the other's back pocket and he folds himself against Rictor with a careful easy practice. They've had too much time to not perfect the art of affection.]
Smells good, lover. What did you make?
no subject
Fajitas. Or tacos, if you want. [ Julio shrugs, at that. They're just kind of the same, in the end, though they don't really have guacamole or anything like that. He'd long learned to make due with having things at least cooked in the correct way, tortillas in a container that kept them moist and warm off to the side somewhere.
Despite how irritated he is there's a flea bitten potential little shit under their island right now, he turns to give Shatterstar a little kiss anyway, careful not to draw his husband in too much. They'd burned far too much food and drawn far too much attention getting a little too amorous while he was cooking, at this point, and they'd only had this apartment for a few months. ]
The cat's been asleep since you left. Except when it moved under the island chairs, of course..
no subject
Yup. Not slowing down on that fine piece anytime soon.] That makes sense. He had a big day, after all. But I'm glad you two got along while I was out. That makes this considerably easier. Next time, I will be sure to discuss with you if we are adopting another animal or not beforehand. I thought about that on the way, it was rude of me.
[At least Shatterstar's a little more self-aware now. He was learning--and being in Rictor's space 24/7 just them had sped the process just a little. They still got catty and upset with each other, but that was par for the course.]
