Dancing well takes serious skill and talent, but just about anyone can shake their hips or tap their feet to a beat. No matter your competency in cutting the rug, there's some pleasure to be found in letting loose and moving your body to the music. Not to mention... sometimes it's fun to get all dressed up! (And if not, then perhaps in seeing a partner all dressed up?)

It's the biggest social event of the year - provided you're still in high school! Do you have the guts to ask your crush to the dance, or are you more the shy wallflower type? How about a platonic date with your bestie?

Ah, the formal gala: it's prom for adults! Dress in your finest and get yourself a partner for a tango or a waltz. It's for charity, after all.

Do a little jig in the kitchen, or enjoy a living room slowdance with a significant other to the dulcet tones of your smart speaker.

You're hitting the clubs and you're ready to grind! What better place to meet new people who know how to have fun?

[Selective on F/F (please discuss first) if it gets romantic, and very much still voice testing--But I thought this would be a good way to get my feet wet with her muse.

I'm currently blazing my way through the series to canon study so I might be a little slow on tagging back.]

[Ever since Chapter 8-9 I have not known peace about the mental image of Libra dancing with someone. Good with all prompts, would love for someone to fluster him (or at least try to) with 7 though.]

[Locked for Dan Heng/Stelle contact to one mun, but honestly--I think the mental image of just Stelle having fun and letting loose for once is nice whether with a romantic partner or friends--So prompts 3, 4, and possibly 1 will be fun though I'm open to all.]

( Can not dance at all. This will be awkward and some form of tripping and or footstepping might happen. handwaved cr welcomed. f/m for ships.)

[Soji doesn't do a lot of dancing, but when it's late and she's stuck in the lab, headphones blaring, it's absolutely time to cut a rug. Dancing is, frankly, the premiere form of late-night locomotion.]

( There's a strange sense of déjà vu in the air. The combination of heavy house music and the collective sweat of a dozen or so moving bodies has Alex reminiscing about where this all began. It's enough to cause his throat to hitch as he's reminded of that strangely despondent look on Henry's face at midnight. He can't help but wonder how differently it could have ended. If Alex had just known, Henry could have been his only kiss on New Year's.

This is a ridiculous thought because Alex couldn't have known. Henry had played this so close to his vest that without reading minds, he never would have figured it out without that little nudge in the right direction.

But now, here in one of the lesser seedy bars in Austin, the song slows down, and Alex can't fight the urge anymore. He slides one hand over Henry's shoulder and keeps sliding it until he finally throws his arm around Henry's neck and motions to the dance floor. )

Dance with me? ( Much less insistent, and much more hopeful with a pleading look in his eye that he thinks might convince Henry to throw caution to the wind and live a little. )

[ Here at this bar in Austin, he had been rather delighted to find out that very few people recognized him; perhaps it was because they did not expect to see a Prince in a place like this. There was something exhilarating about the anonymity, of sharing a beer with Alex like this.

Even though beer was a bit disgusting, he found that it was more about the companionship then it was the actual act of drinking the beer (though he would absolutely let Alex drink from his bottle as he had several times this evening), the act of sharing a bottle where lips touched in an indirect kiss. There was a strange poetry to that.

When Alex drew him closer (or as close as they could while both being on barstools), he smiled and leaned his head against the other guy's shoulder, once again as much as he was able. He felt silly and this felt romantic, just a little bit-- but it also was not like that New Years where they had both been utter disasters. This felt safe and warm. ]

A dance, why it would be my pleasure to accept-- you will find I do have a spot on my dance card reserved specifically for you. [ or several, because facing it-- he was not going to dance with anyone this night save for his distracting and beautiful american boyfriend ]

( The darkness of the bar shrouds Alex in enough darkness that it isn't immediately obvious just how much Alex is swooning over Henry accepting. He feels victorious as he hops off his stool and makes a big show of bowing and offering out his hand as if they were about to do some traditional ballroom waltz instead of something a little more contemporary. )

I was hoping you'd say that. ( He lifts his head enough to smile before leading Henry towards a dark corner rather than the center of the dance floor. He knows he shouldn't press his luck by being so overt with his affections, and the last thing they both need is for the paparazzi to catch wind that either of them is here and ruin the little bubble they've fashioned for themselves here in Austin. )

So on a scale of one to ten, ( he starts as he waits for Henry before they both seem to move in unison, to find the best position to sway across the floor. ) How is this ranking on all your visits to America?

[ It was true that Henry was a very private individual, but then being born into the royal family, it was all he had ever known-- that feeling of privacy. So the dancing into a far more darkened corner was appreciated; and there was nothing more natural than to slip his hand into Alex's-- to feel the way that their fingers seemed to effortlessly move into each other, to scissor together.

Perhaps he was at a lost to the rhythmic body frenzy that had dominated New Years, but he was no stranger to this sweetness of a slow dance even if he did not get to indulge nearly as often as he would've liked. The intimacy was well appreciated and his hand moved to lightly drape around Alex's waist so that they could stand in close, invading each other's space. ]

I would give it a solid 9.5. [ He teased solemnly, giving Alex something to protest-- he knew that it would happen, that Alex would broach that 9.5 as if it was personal challenge of a good time ] Austin is not a place that I ever thought I had visited but I think you've taught me to savor the spontaneous.

( It's immediately obvious to Henry, just how perfectly they fit together. Even with all of their clothes on and just indulging in the way their bodies seem to move in unison to the music, it is enough for Alex to realize that there is nowhere else he would rather be right now. He still can't believe how quickly he has gone from glaring daggers at Henry's back to shoving Henry back against the nearest wall and --

Okay, maybe he should keep his thoughts focused before he causes a scene in the middle of the bar. Not that he wouldn't drag Henry to the bathroom if it came to it, but he is trying to keep this a nice, normal night. )

Shit, man, ( Alex replies with an exasperated laugh, ) tough critic. ( It causes him to grin, though, and his grip around Henry tightens just a little bit more. ) It's good that you're savoring it, though. You should know there is way, way more where that comes from while you're dating me.

[ Henry enjoyed these intimate moments just as much as there was quite the quiet romantic within him; he'd spend days quoting poems to Alex.. the sort of love poems that were subtle and with such nuanced deeper meanings. So this slow dance sway was just perfect, it appealed to something deeper within him (not that he could not be coaxed to following Alex for potential sexy-times? Of course he could because he was a redblooded man who Alex brought the best out of.

The libido was a strong pull though. ]

I am a very tough crowd to work, Alex-- however I think you have some tricks up your sleeve.. you always do. [ There is a fond smile as he looks at Alex's profile as they dance, the high cheekbones and those kissable lips; in addition to all the other virtues of Alex's form ] Though admittedly, you always do throw me for a loop-- it is your superpower, I think.

( One thing was damn well sure: Henry had a knack of keeping Alex on his toes. That much had become clear the moment they started exchanging texts and emails. It transferred flawlessly in person in a manner that delighted Alex.

He doesn't think he's ever smiled as much as he had since this romance started. Even just how Henry looks at him inspires a feeling of satisfaction that he isn't sure he could ever get with anyone else. It's a thought that should probably scare him, and maybe it will one day, but for now, he's content to roll with it. ) Well, if that's my superpower, we've got to figure yours out. If I had to guess, I'd say it's something to do with your mouth.

( He grins, shaking his head at his own nonsense before dipping in to brush his lips quickly against Henry's. While he would love to push their luck and see just how much they could get away with, the last thing they need is seeing their faces in some tabloid the next day and having to spend the rest of their trip dodging paparazzi. )

I am not the one with the smart one, Alex.

[ As he slipped seamless into that rhythem and flow, of being held within the circle of those arms-- the scent of Alex which invaded even the moments in which they were not together; right now this was a beautiful blissful dream of anonymity. The best thing about a small hole-in-the-wall bar in Austin, Texas was that most people did not think that they would find the Prince of England there so for the most part his presence was unremarked upon.

Rather, Henry thought that Alex probably had more to look out for then he did.

Surprised by the brush of lips, however he did allow his hand to move downward from waist and then he gave a rather firm handful; just a squeeze before his hand righted itself back onto waist as if it was a figment of Alex's imagination. There would be more of that later though, in fact Henry would make sure that Alex was well-satisfied when they got back to the Lakehouse. ]

Though, I suppose that I could perhaps use a bit of practice with my superpower mouth, I would not want to become rusty with it-- have to make sure that it is constantly in practice and we have not seen each other in a month.

[Surprisingly good at formal/ballroom dance. Might be a little rusty because it’s been a while for her. Open to anything!]
