Boarding school

The Boarding School Meme
It's like your high school AU meme with an extra step - each student and even some staff are provided their own living quarters within the school campus. Nobody has to roll up in a nice car, or run towards the train station with a toast in their mouth (they can still do that when they're late to class though). So try to enjoy it, you're gonna be here for a whole year.
---
1. Post with your character name, canon, and preferences in the subject line. Additional preferences in the comment section is encouraged but not required. Student or staff, shipping/smut preferences, the type of boarding school, the time period, or what scenarios you're looking to play.
2. ???
3. Welcome back to school.
TYPE:
1. Single-Sex - A girls only, or boys only school. They can be conveniently right next to each other, with a lot of sneaking around going on, or rivalries between clubs and sports teams.
2. Co-Ed - Boys and girls are integrated.
3. Military/Monastic- A grittier/holier version. Instead of dorms, students are expected to live in barracks/temples.
4. Horror - The school's secluded campus is the least creepy thing going on here. The school itself could be haunted, home to a cult, or someone got dared to summon a demon.
5. Super/Magic - A school for teaching a new generation of kids with superhuman and/or magical abilities. Can crossover with military or horror, depending on your tastes.
PROMPTS:
1. first day
Catch up with old friends, brave new teachers, fight your way through the sea of students, and hope you're in the right classroom. Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.
2. first period
You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.
3. lesson proper
You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.
4. faculty
Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!
5. lunch break
Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.
6. hooky
One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.
7. detention
What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.
8. p.e.
Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.
9. home ec
Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!
10. lab work
Frog dissections! Explosions!
11. school fair/festival
Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?
12. theater
Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?
13. library
If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.
14. bully
Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)
15. tutor
You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.
16. clubs
Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...
17. prom
Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?
18. graduation
Well, it was fun while it lasted. It's time to say those last words, settle those scores and get ready to grow up.
19. roll again/make your own scenario
Getting to your new room and meeting the roommates, sneaking into or heading on over to the boys/girls campus, school visits, field trips, going to the nearest town, winter or spring break - you name it!

When she saw Morgan headed in her direction, though, she did at least move so they could get through.] Didn't mean to be in your way. [She really didn't. She just wanted to be in her own little world.]

So now they found themselves in the library walking towards the quiet corner they liked to sit in when they hid. Problem was, someone was already hanging there, she was a new girl, Guinevere, Morgan thought, why was she here? Approaching her, Guin spoke to them, and Morgan hesitated to answer, their voice feeling weak in their throat. It coming out almost like a whisper.]
No, it's fine, I'm... I'm just going to sit down here.
[And as she did move away, they scuttled past to sit down at one of the desks there, pulling out a book and starting to try to read, but kept shooting nervous looks over at Guin, trying to keep an eye on her. She hadn't been mean to them, yet, a voice whispered inside them, but Morgan hoped she would just, leave them alone, that would be a whole lot easier than the alternative.]
no subject
You don't need to worry about me.
[She said with a half-hearted attempt at a smile.]
I'm just staying out of the way until P.E. is over.
[She might have cut a class just to get away from everything. P.E. was notoriously her worst subject.]
no subject
Okay, yeah, no that's fine.
[Morgan returned the small smile. They had to clear their throat before speaking again.]
Yeah, you're welcome to stay as long as you want, I guess, I'm also staying away until, well... meal time maybe? I don't know.
[Morgan tucks away some hair from their face and looked back down into their book. Guinevere was alright they supposed, or at least, she hadn't taken the chance to be bad to them.]

[The small things were usually what she found amusement in or that kept her going. She had little idea what she was going to do without Stuart. They'd always had something to do, whether it was bike rides or lunches and now all of that was just gone.
Wherever he was, she hoped he was as miserable as her.
She paused thinking about that. Guin didn't want to keep interrupting Morgan but she knew how much it had meant to her when Stuart had extended that olive branch to her and wanted to spend time with her. She didn't want anyone to feel like a loner, at least not involuntarily.]
How long have you been here? I haven't seen you around.
no subject
[Bonus point of skipping out was that they could go early to lunch and get food before anyone else. So they could easily avoid the people that actually did bother them.
And with Guin talking to them, Morgan realized they had two choices, either leave now and avoid talking to her and probably alienate one of the only people who hadn't been rude or horrible towards them, or they could face some fear and actually, properly engage with her. Who knows, maybe the two could even be friends?
The choice not really being all that difficult, Morgan put in a bookmarker and put the book they were reading down. Focusing their attention fully on the girl standing besides them.]
I'm fairly new, I've only been here a couple of months but I tend to keep to myself so, no surprise I guess. My name is Morgan, by the way. How about you? You been here long?
no subject
[If Morgan had seen her in class then she'd know that wasn't Guin's entire name. She had shortened it early on to avoid the princess jokes, to fit in better and also as it wasn't quite a mouthful to say.
She leaned back against the wall, tucking her phone into her pocket.]
It's not bad. Once people here realize they can't mess with you they'll stop trying. They're not mean-spirited, most of them anyway, they're just idiot kids.
[Spoken like somebody who didn't realize she was still a teenager herself.]
no subject
[Morgan could have sworn they'd seen her in class, or that they shared at least some classes with her, but given their propensity to daydream or otherwise zone out, it might have just gone straight over their head.]
That's... actually encouraging to hear, and helpful, much better than the school councilor who recommended "taking it on the chin and becoming friends with them" or "asking them to stop", like that wouldn't invite even more.
[Morgan had seen it plenty of times, kids who had become target of the week, who had begged for mercy or to be left alone, and that had only worsened it, sometimes to the point that the kid had to move to another school.]
I usually just hid or stayed out of the way until they left me alone. Can't get you if they can't find you.
no subject
[Guin shakes her head. Maybe Morgan had simply stumbled into a rough crowd. At least the guys Stuart had introduced her to had proven to be generally nice, just dumb sometimes like most teenagers.
It didn't make her feel any more comfortable to be here, though. They were his friends, and he had broken her heart and then run off.]
You're welcome to sit with me if you need to. I can introduce you to some of them, though I don't have to. They're an acquired taste.
no subject
[Her invitation visually stuns and confuses Morgan. Someone who was interested to spend time with them outside of class and... whatever you could call this. A mutual escape from class? Something like that.
But, she had also been nice to them and had extended an olive branch as they say. Still, Morgan stayed on the side of caution, she hadn't hurt them, yet, but who knew when that would change. And so their head bows a little and their voice grows thin.]
You don't have to, that's fine, I can manage on my own. And, you don't have to worry about introducing me to your friends, I don't wanna intrude on you guys.
[There is a barely covered hint of pain in Morgan's voice, this was clearly something that had happened in the past and that they'd been burned, badly. Not many people had been genuinely kind to them in a long time.]

"I'm Brice. I do butterfly and freestyle. Mainly I'm just here for the snacks." He wished there were more snacks. "And this is the only pool, don't let anyone tell you there's one on the roof." A usual chatterbox, Brice offered some head nods to guys across the floor at another set of lockers. They seemed to be filing out, he must be running late. Like usual.
"Just hang out here," he said in a low, soft voice leaning in and catching a clean, light scent from the other. "We can avoid warmups if we act like I'm helping you out." Another grin sliced his face as Brice popped the button on his slacks.
