Dean shifted on the bed, staring at the tv before bringing the half empty bottle of whiskey to his lips and chugging down a few gulps. He sighed, closing his eyes.

He was spending yet another night while Sam was out researching drinking away his thoughts. He had to stop doing this to himself. He couldn't stop thinking about Sam, his baby brother. God he was a freak. He'd always been so good at pushing this shit out of his head, but recently it had been getting harder to do.

Sam had grown up, filled out. It hadn't helped that Sam liked to walk out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist or that he insisted on working out in the morning with his shirt off. Dean had caught himself staring more than was healthy. So he'd started drinking more.

Sam gets back to the motel a few hours later, thoroughly exhausted. He's tired of this. Of spending hours away from his brother to hide his sick, twisted attraction. Dean is his older brother. The last person on earth he should have a crush on. He'd thought his time at Stanford had cured it. Had wiped it clean. But as soon as he started traveling with his brother again, it had come rushing back. Now it felt like he spent more time staring at text in books than he does talking to his brother.

He tosses his keys on the rickety excuse for a table in their room, scrubbing a hand over his face. "Have you been drinking this whole time?"

He glanced over at Sam, staring just a little bit too long at him before forcing his eyes back to the tv. The half empty bottle was now completely empty and he was a little over halfway through a second bottle.

He shrugged, swallowing another mouthful before answering. "Nothin' better to do." He slurred out, snorting as he pulled himself up a bit more until he was sitting straight up against the headboard. "You get research done?" His eyes trailed back over slowly, looking him up and down before closing his eyes and letting his head thud back against the headboard.

"Jesus, Dean. 'Nothing better to do' isn't an excuse. You're turning into an alcoholic." He pinches the bridge of his nose for a long moment, fighting to calm down. "Yeah. I did. It's a Tulpa. Which means we either find a weakness or there's nothing we can do."

"I've got a lot on my mind, okay!?" He snapped, setting the bottle on the bedside table with a heavy thud. "Of course its a damn Tulpa." He grumbled, pushing himself up and stumbling slightly. "Can't we just burn the damn house down like we did last time?"

He sighed, rubbing his forehead as he made his way towards the bathroom. He brushed past Sam, stumbling again and just barely catching himself by grabbing his brother. "Sorry, Sammy..."

"No we can't, Dean. That's not a solution," he insists. Leave it to Dean to try to weasel his way out of truly deal with the Tulpa. That's just how his brother is when he's drunk.

Sam startles a bit as he reaches out to steady Dean. "You need to sleep this off, Dean. You're a mess."

"Worked last time." He grumbled before laughing when he remembered watching the Tulpa stand at the door of the burning house, unable to leave. "It was awesome too if you ask me." He slurred, holding on to Sam.

He leaned his head on Sam's shoulder, shaking his head. "Don't wanna sleep, Sammy. Sleep jus' makes it worse."
