So I (ERROR404F) have been tutoring one of my employee's children in science but the girl, let's call her [MEL] (20sF), is completely out of control. She doesn't take any constructive criticism, doesn't listen when I'm speaking to her, even when it's to explain the exercise we are about to do, and goes out of her way to destroy vital testing aparati. She has broken every one of my surveillance cameras, every window, several doorways, has stolen and broken all the radios in the building, and has tried to kill me. Twice.

She even turned down cake at the party I was throwing her! Who doesn't like cake?

Recently, she and her little frustrating friend [RICELY] (45M) broke into my office and started playing around in the breaker room. When I put them back to work doing science, they just started breaking things again, even going so far as to break several of my production lines and ruining two perfectly good machines. They cut one up with lasers!

They tricked me into leaving my office and then shoved me down the elevator shaft. [MEL], at least, seemed to feel badly about that, she came to help me up, but then proceeded to break just about everything in the basement as we looked for the stairwell. By the time I got back up, her friend had practically blown up the building!

Anyway, I ejected him immedately. [MEL] refuses to speak to me, even to apologize, and so I kicked her out. The two robots I built to replace her aren't capable of speech, but their terrified pantomime and jittery gesticulation speak volumes.

AITA for ejecting a subborn, violent, mute (not medically, afaik) girl from my labs after she destroyed everything and attempted to kill me? Twice?

NTA? Why would you be? Sounds like someone needed to put an end to them. While I prefer to make such things quick and relatively painless it is more of a practical decision than anything else. Why waste more time than needed in dealing with something unpleasant, after all?

Humanity (~200000) already nuked itself into an apocalyptic future. We tore the planet to shreds and put more craters on its surface than swiss cheese has holes. Devastated the ecosystem, all biological life, our own genes. Worse, the dead can't die holding onto strong connections or regret, and that's all anyone seems to have anymore.

Not about the right things, though. Oh, no.

We live on shamelessly like it never happened, desperate to rebuild and reconnect what we disconnected. Reconstitute the oppressive "republic" that started it all. All that's left of America now are pockets of civilization cowering deep underground to avoid ever seeing the grey, grey sky. Subsisting off help from some glorified pack mule (30sM) and his loyal band of merry liars. And I'm sure the rest of the planet isn't doing much better.

We're suspended in time, folks, doomed to repeat our mistakes. You know it. I know it. We need to let go of the rope. And, well, I (30sM) had an opportunity to cut it.

Despite fucking it all up, despite my failure, the end of the world is unavoidable. The Big Five will soon be the Big Six. So, why delay the inevitable if the best we've got is a few thousand years? Have a little dignity in death. AITA?
