Due to recent adjustments in the Employee Retention Guidelines, all [212] test subjects, employees, and in house contractors born today will be assigned their own Corporate Appreciation Confections. Allow me to commend the recent adjustments made to the Employee Retention Guidelines. Despite a sizable queue, procurement of our Appreciation Confections was remarkably quick and orderly. My brother and I both enjoyed them very much. The pie, especially.

[Soon as he cracks his front door, steps in from the cagey nighttime air, Fet knows something's up. It isn't that what he's lived through has given him spidey senses or some shit. On the contrary, these days he's more aware than ever of how humdrum human his senses are.

Though after half a sec there's one perceptible marker of strangeness for him to follow. A scent wafting out of his kitchen, sweetish, wet-smelling. Not so much strawberries fresh-sliced as pulped into bits.

Fet reaches for the light, slowly. (No scrabbling, though given sufficient motivation he isn't above that, not even a little bit.) Flicks on the switch.]

[What's the worst sight in the universe to be confronted with after a lifetime of grossness and horrors? Maybe not this, but it could at least be in the running--a maddening pest who slammed down a lumpish mass of chocolate and icing and strawberry on a counter that doesn't belong to it... and the only good part of this is that the 'cake' is on a plate.
