[ They worked a case once. A long time ago, at least a decade now, when Addie was still a little green, full of venom and sugar but stubborn about following instincts. All before Fletcher, and the case with the Miller girl; before her suspension, even, the first one, when everyone had looked at her with disappointment and curiosity, like she was a butterfly pinned to be tacked back and looked at. And she'd thought, let them. Because someone was behind bars. And it was the right someone. And she hadn't regretted doing that — not for a second, not for what came after in North Dakota.

They're both a lot older. Maybe wiser, if you want to be optimistic about it. It's a clear night out, a cool breeze. They're sitting on the back of her pick-up, and her boots barely scuff the dirt. Her dog's behind them, half-asleep with his snout buried in his paws; the farm, her farm, out in Virginia is quiet. The horses are in the barn. The cows have gone home. Everything is ready and unmoving, winding down for sleep.

There's a six pack of beer split between them. Curie's on her second drink. She hums around the lip of the glass bottle, and gives Raylan a long, sideways look. ]

I thought I'd miss it more, you know. Getting the bad guy. Doing the work.

[ But she doesn't. Getting forced out was probably the best thing that's ever happened to her, in the end. A soft hum, and then she tips her head upward, pointing at the sky with a single, outstretched finger. ]

[ London is, for the most part, not conducive to stargazing at night - being such a large city, the light pollution doesn't - or shouldn't - allow for it. It'd take a miracle to see the stars from the roof of a bookshop in Soho.

Luckily, angels can do miracles.

They also often enjoy picnics, so that's why Aziraphale dragged Crowley up to the roof tonight, to watch the meteor shower, with a blanket (tartan) and a picnic basket with plenty of wine to share between the two of them, and plenty of nibbles for Aziraphale to enjoy and at least attempt to share with the demon. It's pretty much perfect. ]

Oh, there's another one! They're really starting to go, now.
