Whether it's someone you know, someone you love, or someone you've never seen before, and whether it's at a ball, a prom or a garden party, whether it's in your living room, in your garden, sometimes you just want to hold someone close and sway with them. Feel their hand in yours, lead or follow, and feel them close. Steal a moment in time where nothing has to weigh on you but their head on your shoulder.

2. A date - Not quite dressed up, but it's a special occasion. First date, anniversary, a chance encounter at an old fashioned music hall?

3. At home - Maybe it's 2am in the kitchen, maybe you want to charm them after a home cooked meal, maybe you just want to show that your record player and vinyls have special merit.

Somewhere farther away than over the rainbow, Chrissy said yes to going out on a date with him. Eddie's always lived in the realm of when pigs and cows fly as it pertains to his affections for her, thinking it could've taken a once in a blue moon shot to hear the sweetest affirmative that's ever graced his ears.

He's observed plenty of couples on plenty of dates. Young men who fussed so hard over themselves that their masculinity practically oozes from their pores; pretty girls who certainly try even harder to look perfect for their date, all to (likely) have their hopes shattered sometime that night or within the next weeks or months. Other young people are dumb, he knows, and well, stretching his effort isn't Eddie's style.

He does, however, show up at Chrissy's door that night in new(er) black jeans with minimal rips, a plain slate gray t-shirt, leather jacket on, altogether very Eddie. His hair smells like crisp masculine shampoo, smile ever-present on his lips, even with a knot of anxiety and nerves threatening his throat, another living in his belly.

Knock knock knock, three rapid and direct raps with his knuckles, a small bouquet of pink, purple, and white carnations in one hand. Bought at the grocery store on his way over: girls like flowers, any time, right? They're special, aren't they? Chrissy sure is special.

For the date itself, well, there's a carnival in town, complete with some Indiana 4H attractions, cute animals and all, a sweet bit of fair tossed right in. It'll be a place everyone else in town, from school, might go, might see them there together, and Eddie truly could not care less.
