The Darkest Timeline. 

Pick a point in your character's timeline.  What choice did they make? What choice did others make that would have changed their world?  Decide that choice, change it and go from there.  Tag others to join in on the fun.  The darker the new timeline, the better!

[Kit can also walk out of the hospital whenever he likes. It's a plus.

Joan is asleep when Kit gets there. She's a bit more hooked up than he was, with oxygen tubes and several kinds of monitors to go with her IV.]

[He sits down beside her bed, then. Waiting and watching her.]

[She sleeps for a little while. Sherlock stands at the doorway, keeping vigil.

She finally stirs, opens her eyes and smiles weakly.]

Hey.

Hey. How're you feeling?

[formersurgeon]

[She gives him a small smile.]

I'm not taped to a chair. It's a plus.

[denokandafaran]

I'm glad you're safe.

[formersurgeon]

Thanks to you.

[She reaches for his hand.]

You okay?

[denokandafaran]

You helped me. I'll always help you.

[Taking her hand.]

I'll be okay.

[formersurgeon]

I didn't get shot twice helping you.

That second shot...that should have killed you.

Maybe. I don't know how bad it was.

It looked like a head shot. But...you're okay.

You saw the lights. I know you did.

...I'm not sure what I saw.

[He's a little bothered at that idea, but right now? That's not important.]

Whatever happened, I'll be okay. You being okay, that's what matters.

And you're okay. And alive.

[She squeezes his hand.]

[He squeezes back.] And she's gone.

[formersurgeon]

She'll come back. She'll always come back.

[She glances at Sherlock, watching over her worriedly.]

He blames himself.

He shouldn't. Do you?

No. It's her fault. Not his, not mine.

Nope. Just hers.

How long do you have to stay in the hospital?

[denokandafaran]

I didn't really ask. Have you talked to anyone?

They want me to stay for at least five days. I think Sherlock will change their minds just by annoying the hell out of everybody.

[She smiles fondly at Sherlock, and he smiles fondly back.]
