OH NO i forgot my coat
CLOTHING SHARE meme

Whether it's to stave off the elements (you two are suddenly out in the cold! it's life or death! except maybe you're just in the Walmart frozen aisle and you're freezing your tits off) or as a sign of affection, will one character give a beloved item of clothing? Does your guy even have something to offer up?
Better think fast! Your thread partner just got a bucket of water dunked on them. A tiger ate part of their skirt and now their butt is showing. Somebody's shoe got lost. They need your sweatshirt for
reasons. Yeah. Reasons. Will you be best buddy or a friendly stranger? Hey, you could earn a smooch on the cheek for your trouble.

[Cass didn’t have anything close to Peter’s spider sense but her training still meant she was able to tell when he came in the window. Even though she was on the couch in the other room wrapped in a slightly too large grey hoodie. Being in the same business she understood why he’d no-showed earlier that evening when they were supposed to hang out.
So she’s let herself into his place and decided to wait for him. When he realized he was not alone and came to investigate she looked up at him nonchalantly.]
Late.
This is perfect!
[Peter hadn't noticed right away that Cass was there. Namely because she was a silent ninja and he was... not the sort of hero that had silent ninja detection powers when that person wasn't trying to attack him. It wasn't until he'd taken his suit off and walked into his living room in his boxers that he noticed her.]
Ah! What are you... is that my hoodie?!
[Holding his costume in front of him to try and cover some of the skin he was showing he ducked out of sight behind the couch. Obviously he was happy to see Cass, he was ALWAYS happy to see Cass, but he didn't expect her here and she was wearing more of his clothes than he was at the moment.]

When he noted that she was wearing his hoodie she put on a look of mock indignation and pulled the hood closer around her face.]
It was chilly.

There’s literally a blanket next to you on the couch.
[Peter couldn’t sound anything close to indignant though, in fact he was secretly pleased that she had wanted to wear something of his. Secretly pleased though, because the girl who could read body language like someone was shouting definitely hadn’t picked up on tue fact that he really liked her, right?]
But, uh, make yourself at home while I get dressed? I’m sorry about earlier. There was this guy in a robot rhino suit and then an apartment fire and a chicken stuck in a tree…

[Of course that was the thing she found unusual. Who kept chickens in the city? Lucky for Peter, while Cass could read his body language, she was a bit oblivious to romance, and even more oblivious to the idea that someone would like her that way. As she thought she looked down at the blanket and shook her head.]
This is better.

[Considering the price of eggs sometimes it actually was pretty cool.]
I'm gonna go get clothes on now? Because I don't have any on right now. So... be back in a sec.
[It took maybe a bit longer to come back than normal just because he tried on like three quick outfits trying to figure which one he liked best. It was silly because he didn't think Cass cared that much about what he wore but he couldn't help it, he wanted her to like him. To like like him. In the end he just settled on jeans and a t-shirt before heading back out.]
So, uh, are you still up for hanging out?

Otonashi... how are you not cold like this?
[He might be, but someone is trying to steal as many layers as he can.]
no subject
[ it would have been an impossible request, telling Alphinaud to remain behind and ignore the plight of those in need, just to keep warm himself.
but then, so would asking him to not complain about the cold. ]
Just... a little longer. There's one more person I'm waiting to see, and she's a friend of mine. Here--
[ he undoes the clasps on his jacket, warm from his own body heat, and nudges the blanket aside to allow him to set it over Alphinaud's shoulders. ]
Do you think this will keep you going for a while longer? Keep you from dying? [ he gives his companion the most gentle shove. so vocal about his distaste for the cold, this one. ]
no subject
[He just needs to put on a few more layers that's all. When Otonashi lends him his coat, he protests somewhat.]
What about you? You'll be cold too.
[Even if he's the one who doesn't like the cold, he likes the idea of Otonashi being cold even less.]
no subject
[ and given the prior events, the people that had been so grateful and appreciative of supplies and medical care, well. he could not possibly hold any regrets; not then, and not now, seeing the warm coat with Alphinaud. ]
... Would you feel better if we shared the blanket until I see her? I'm not gonna die, you know that.
no subject
[He opens the blanket offering it to him.]
Here. Join me for a while?
no subject
[ but, he gets what Alphinaud is driving at. giving one last glance around the area, he shuffles into the blanket. ]
It's not you. I'm - uh. Still a little on edge, I guess? [ he isn't one to normally ramble on like this, but with Alphinaud sitting in place and trying to handle to cold as he is, Otonashi ought to offer some sort of explanation for his hesitancy to sit and relax for a change. ]
I'm glad we came out. I just end up -- I don't know. Thinking too much. I never used to, and I could think to myself about how much I hate how the cold made my fingers go numb, how it hurt to be stuck out in it and working... [ he holds out a bare hand, shifting the blanket so he can splay his fingers, each of them reddened from cold (and from giving away his gloves in the midst of things). ]
no subject
Maybe it would have been fine to keep your gloves, then? You're allowed to have things like that without coming across as selfish. You needed them too.
[He tucks his chin against Otonashi's shoulder, looking at his splayed, reddened, fingers.]
You're allowed to have things too.
no subject
[ he looks aside at Alphinaud as his companion in all this settles in against him. the sigh that follows is a bit dramatic, but fond, and he cannot - or will not - stop himself for reaching over to ruffle Alphinaud's hair a bit. ]
I know I'm allowed to. Haaah... but you know what it's like, don't you? You have something you feel strongly about, and it gives you a reason to keep going... [ he pulls his hands back beneath the blanket for warmth, though he's careful to touch no skin. ]
I'd rather be cold and have a little pain than watch someone else go though it, when I'm perfectly capable of dealing. [ he can't help but laugh a little, softly. ] You would really hate to hear battle strategies where I'm from... tactical sacrifices and all.
