Do bean bag chairs count? I've got some of those already.

That depends. How durable are these bean bag chairs?

I think I'm just worried about the kids getting older. [ Classic Mom stuff! ]

Pretty durable. They've been through some things, so they should be good.

Ah, yeah. From what I've seen they're pretty safe. Unless they're wandering the woods, or drag racing cars and you haven't told me. ...Are they?

[ Birdie's basic grasp of how people age is kind of broken. She doesn't really interact with them directly so it's entirely possible one of Elia's children has gone on from orange slices at soccer practice to become A Teen Doing Shenanigans. ]

[ At that, she laughs. ] Oh no, they are still much too young for drag racing.

[ But her voice soon grows more wistful. ] Still, every time I look at them they're learning something new. Soon they'll be off having their own adventures.

[ Time moves so fast! For her, anyway. ]

[ Birdie smiles at that. She understands time passing too fast. ]

Oh, good. I was hoping I'd be the one to teach them how to drag race. And you can be sure they're safe, because I don't know how to do that so mostly it'd be going in straight lines.

Birdie! [ Now Elia cannot help but let out a small laugh. ]

Maybe you should try and teach them something you actually know how to do. Something safe, if possible.

[ She considers safe and things she knows for a moment. ]

How do you feel about them learning an instrument? You think their little hands can get around a ukulele?

A ukelele? I think Rhaenys is just the age to start learning. And Aegon could watch.

[ Their father is, after all, a musician. One of the few things he didn't mess up at. ]

[ Oh no, what has she gotten herself into. These children will be up so late for ukuleles. ]

I've never taught a child anything before, but I've shown other people how to play so it can't be too bad.

[ Birdie will have to find an excuse to push this to the winter so the sun will set at a reasonable time. ]

[ The biggest burden of summer is the very late start to her day, honestly. ]

She's not gonna try to break it over my head or something, is she?

I mean, no harm if she does, but I might want to invest in cheaper ukes. And a helmet.
