What motivates you to live your life?

What are your alternatives if you stop actively living your life?

The future.

Oblivion if I'm lucky, neverending torture if I'm not. Being a demon doesn't get you any favours in escaping Hell's nonexistant mercies.

Funny how that works if it's all preordained.

I have to plan for it.

I'm not so sure it is.

Everyone tries to plan for the future. No one ever really manages it.

What do you wish for the future?

And what of the generation after that?

I wish to see the success of the Ghost project in my lifetime. I am not the first Prime Mover, nor will I be the last, but I will not cease until I am able to elevate the Papa Emeritus [ IV ] to his rightful place.

I may not live to see that one. All the reason to make sure the future's in the right hands while I'm still around.

I'm seeing to the safety of my children and my heirs. They have destinies to fulfill as well after I'm gone.

Just another brick in the wall of corporate America. I went to school and was about to enter the workforce when I was called.

If life had been a black and white photograph, it suddenly exploded in a riot of color and feeling.

Honestly... I'm not really sure anymore. I think it might be my art, my love of the stage-- it's kept me going for this long.

[Cora knows that people come and go, but it was her love for acting that helped her brave branching out again.]

Do you think there's a difference between living and merely surviving?

Why do you love performance? Is it because of the audience's cheers or because you can lose yourself in the role?

Of course. Both are vastly different, and yet equally difficult.

The cheers are nice, but not why I got into performing. I loved getting lost in the roles I played and telling a story with them. Absorbing their thoughts, their emotions... it's good for me to be someone else for a while.

[It's not difficult to see how much she lights up while talking about her passion, how much she really does love it.]

So... how do you know if you're really living?

Is it simply the whimsy of playing pretend or do you not enjoy being in your own skin?

The answer is another question. Do you feel alive? Does every breath feel like a prayer, like magic?

Once it was both the whimsy and becoming another person entirely. I still loved it then, obviously. Just gets more complicated when you use something to hide. It's taking a while, but I'm learning to like being in my own skin again.

[As for the question... that makes her falter. It might be easy to brush it off and lie, cover it up with her usual charm. But that doesn't feel right.]

Not in a long time. I've lost people and that makes it difficult to... get that feeling back. How can anyone ever feel that way again when they've lost it?
