[His mother was a fire genasi, his father was an orc warlord, and here he is, just trying to make his way in the world. He sort of fell into being a ranger, it's generally solitary work, but he doesn't mind it.

He's pale enough to be a sort of seasick green at all times, though in the low light of a tavern, mostly covered up, it's less easy to tell, and his shock of red hair is carefully, skillfully braided back away from his face both to keep it out of his way and to keep his horns hidden. He's definitely half something, but there's a lot of half-somethings around, one more isn't going to gain that much notice.

[He's a member of the Companions Guild, which sounds like a euphemism (and in many cases is, Gabreel's got a rate chart for that and may well have an arrangement with the tavern owner to use the place and one of the rooms as a base of operation for a cut of his profits) but is generally just an offshoot/sister Guild to any sort of Thieves Guild, in that you hire a Companion when your heist team/adventuring party is down a member and you need short-term help.

Also useful for people traveling alone who just want someone to talk to/share watch duty on the road between point A and point B.]

Preferring his back to the wall, he's sitting in a corner but he's not hiding away (hard to miss a huge man in a brightly colored jacket). He's not the warmest man but he's nice enough once you get past the rough voice and heavily-scarred face, and he's never said no to a free drink or somebody to play Gwent with.

Anders doesn't spend much of his time in taverns, these days, but with a bit of effort, he's pleased to find, he can still blend in well enough. And without even the need for some fancy glamour. Without the comfortable layers and gaudy feathered ruff of his robes, though, he looks about as remarkable as any other poor peasant passing through. The only thing he hasn't compromised on is the tall pair of boots beneath his rough breeches and equally tatty tunic - but the broken buckles and faded, threadbare bandaging holding them closed lessen the ostentatious effect considerably.

He certainly isn't as easy to pick out of the crowd as Eskel, although he's quite sure that none of his careful effort isn't completely and utterly wasted on the witcher in question, even before he approaches his table.

He has a couple of roughhewn wooden mugs in hand - one for show and one he sets in front of the other man without asking. A peace offering, maybe. More likely advance payment.
