Well, look no further than Summerton / Pelican Town / some other generic small town name! Here, the life you'll lead is as simple as it gets. Tending livestock, planting crops, mining, forging, fishing... Fortunately, it's not as if you're entirely off the grid. There are plenty of townsfolk to keep you company. There're fairs, and parades, and events. And, in time, you might even fall in — dare we say it — love? One can only hope!  how to play 1. Create a top-level and decide whether you'd like to be the fresh-faced new farmer, or a local!  2. Enjoy small town life.

• new in town Congrats, you're the main character of this whole mess! After inheriting some land in a new town from your late grandfather, life is about to become a whole lot different from what you're used to.

And when a new farmer comes to town and can't get their irrigation timer working properly, maybe it's you they call upon!

• getting settled Transitions take time. Maybe you're restless, or uneasy, or uncomfortable inside this little farm house all alone?

 

• traversing the town For a new farmer, taking trips into town is... expected. You're going to need groceries, and farming tools, and seeds to plant, and that's all before even considering the social aspect of it.

 

• nature life Fishing, hiking, scavenging for mushrooms — y'know, the things that normalcity-dwellers don't even consider doing.

 

• town hall As a member of this town, it's your civic duty to attend these dumb meetings and vote on dumb legislation about park benches, damn it!

Kuja here is a mysterious man who moved into the town a few months back, with the aid of his Much Friendlier younger brother (who has since moved on for who knows where, but still regularly sends him letters). He hovered on the edges a long time, no one really knowing much about him, until an Incident occurred and he revealed a secret, formidable talent for healing magic..!

Word got out that the mysterious loner can help, if you get hurt badly. He's not exactly a doctor... but he's not exactly the weirdo who no one knows what to do with anymore, either. He's getting a little worried about that, actually, because the Big Secrets he's hiding are pretty damn big. as in world ending. as in he tried and failed to end the world and brought chaos and devastation all along the way.

..personality wise, he has a rather finicky and chlidish personality, once you get past the Heavy Air Of Melancholy. The secret way to his heart...?

oh, goddess, what does he want? can she pretend she doesn't see him? probably not. it's impolite, besides. not that he deserves any graciousness from her as he's been dubbed the town bully. even bullies need to relax, apparently. she never pictured him the fishing sort. more like the... well, she doesn't know what sort but it isn't this.

Good day to you, Ganondorf. [ zelda greets once she's close, keeping her tone as pleasant as possible to not inspire any conflict between them. ] Are the fish biting for you today?

[ tucked close to her chest, like a shield, is a book. a journal, to be precise, because it says "journal" on the front in swooping calligraphy. there is also flower print. ]

[ Being the town bully is a significant downgrade in status, but a marked improvement in behaviour. He's so far done nothing to warrant serious attention, but at least enough to get a reputation as unfriendly. He doesn't have time for friendships that can't earn him anything. ]

Mmm... they were more active in the morning. [ He answers while staring at Zelda from under the shadow of his hat, before tipping it lower again. That an incarnation of Zelda is here too, in his chosen hideaway, is perhaps his only stroke of luck. Yet, he has no castle or army or plan yet. So he waits, biding his time. It's much like fishing, in that regard. ] They will be in the evening, too.

[ He's quite content to sit here all day and fish. It's not the same as lounging on a throne... but he likes it. It gives him time to think. After a moment's pause, he jabs a thumb towards a square bucket with a few live fish slowly circling the edges. She can look, he deems with the hand gesture. ]

[Once upon a time, some guy ended up even further into the middle of nowhere instead of the city. This seemed to be the smarter decision if one wanted to hide their son from political scandal and an angry drunk, but it's fine. Akira was going to be fine.

Sure, the mayor was missing thus did not greet him or help him with his luggage or even tell him where to go, but it's okay. His brother was by the beach, according to the laundry lady, so that's the only path Akira can really go. Surely, everything will work out.

Though, hopefully he doesn't mind that he's wet and half-naked under the sun, his muscles glinting like the sparkling lights on stage. There's no one else there but the two of them, so Akira can't really mistake him for anyone else. Red hair and a big smile, the main two descriptors the lady gave him.]

The farms were full of crops to harvest, the roads are bare of cars, and the town mayor has probably forgotten his duty to introduce new people to the townsfolk. Or you know, warn said townsfolk about the newbies. In fact, where is the mayor in the first place? Probably strawberry picking, far, far away.

Luckily, this one newbie did not need help introducing himself. After his brother ran off to who knows where, Hiiro had nothing to do. He probably went to look for the mayor. So he secured their bags inside the inn, thanked the lady, and proceeded to get to know their neighbors.

Which is why he's knocking insistently on the door. Not too loud, but way too long, keeping at it without rest as he calls out.]

Hello? Is anyone home? I was told that someone lives in this house, so I wish to greet you with all my might!

[In a small town like this, everyone knew everyone. It was kind of easy when your population doesn't even hit three digits, but it didn't mean that everyone really were friends. After all, different personalities exist. Bubbly, cheerful ones like his own live alongside people who were impossible to find, like Xiao.

Luckily, this has never deterred Hiiro. Sure, he's only been here like three days, but seeing as his goal was to make friends with everyone, he wasn't about to lose heart within a week.

Which is why he's bounding to him like a golden retriever that was excited to go on a walk, eyes sparkling as he speaks in a booming voice.]

Well, too bad for Kaname, that's exactly the kind of place he ends up in. Endless fields, uneven dirt roads, and a cow munching the tall grass, and maybe Kaname's hair too. Oh, and don't forget, the young man snoozing nearby, in Kaname's way-- if Kaname can even see him.

[A sleepy town like theirs was never one that makes it to the list of must visits. It was so small and unremarkable that most people wouldn't even know it existed unless they were passing by to get to a much more well-known city. Buses appear once a week, and the local mechanic was never around when you needed him.

Just like now, it seemed. Hiiro hadn't expected a visitor, not when their house that doubled as an inn barely had guests. It was unprofitable, but it gave his brother an excuse to talk to people from the outside, in a world he dreamed to go. Hiiro was rather happy staying put in comparison.

So when a guy barges in looking haggard and annoyed, Hiiro hadn't been ready to welcome him. In fact, he was kind of in the middle of gutting a fish in the main hall.

[ picture this: an energetic and enthusiastic teenager looking for all kinds of tasty looking goodies? of course he knows there are edible (and inedible) mushrooms, herbs, even some berries that are probably good to eat... and he's been able to fill up his backpack with them. maybe he can find someone to help evaluate what is okay to eat and what isn't later, but that's not the problem.

[ The countryside appears to be the best location to lie low indeed. Here, the villagers are surely preoccupied with their daily routine, focused on tending to their crops and livestock and the like. Thus, there's no reason for them to follow news involving the music industry in a distant city, even if RECO has become both famous and infamous.

Reko undoubtedly still stands out, but so far, she hasn't left their lodgings, holed up in her room instead. They've barely exchanged any words, which isn't terribly unusual these days — still, the dramatic change of scenery lets Alice dare to hope that more than that might change while they're staying here, with enough time and patience. At the very least, no one will pry into his sister's business. Perhaps the atmosphere and the landscape will even be a liberating source of inspiration?

He's taken it upon himself to become better acquainted with this village, at any rate. They aren't here as tourists, after all — they're supposed to blend in!

Unfortunately, it's rather difficult to blend in without a memorized map, despite how small the place is. Alice wanders through the streets, peering at quaint signs and buildings. The looks he receives don't escape his notice.

His efforts lead him to the beach: a strip of sandy shore, the sea shimmering in the sunlight beyond it. The sight is nostalgic, and all the more so when he discovers shells buried in the sand here and there. On a whim, he stoops down to collect a few at his feet one by one.

Only after several moments of that does it occur to him that some of the buildings on this beach are clearly inhabited — could that make him a trespasser, stealing someone's property?! Furtively, hastening to appear completely innocent and not suspicious, he glances around. ]

Alternately alternately: she's posing as the Harvest Goddess because the real one's either been sealed away ala Magical Melody's plot, or she's a heavily depowered goddess who wants to help this failing land get back on it's feet.
