Acidic venom from the archgriffin he's just slain, spat from the beast's maw in its final death throes.

So now he's shirtless, sweating like a draft horse and built like one too, with a broad barrel chest, wide shoulders and arms knotted with muscles capable of swinging the silver sword in his hand as if it weighed nothing at all. Muscles fed by alchemy and carved by a decade of relentless and finely-tuned training. The fine furring of black hair that shadows his body from his pectorals, tapering down to a narrow trail that runs below his belt, is disrupted here and there by old, deep scars from battles past. He's scarred all over, as any man might be who had been fighting such battles for as long as most mortal men would ever hope to live. The distinct marks of a sirens claws across the span of his back. A bite mark where neck meets shoulder. The ragged pass of a knife just below his ribs, a stroke that at the time had nearly gutted him but is now just an angry red line.

Looks like he might have a fresh scar to add to his collection, as his flank blooms red and blistered where the acid had eaten through his leather armor, though it seems like a relatively superficial wound now that he's thrown aside the acid-soaked leathers.
