Clint's known about the Starks for years. 'Course he has, there isn't a person alive who hasn't heard about the Starks--crime family that rules and runs most of the east coast from gangs to crime to rigged elections, but always somehow comes out squeaky clean and looking like Mother Teresa any time the cops try to do some spring cleaning.

He knows about the Starks and he knows about Tony--the prodigal son, the one who, instead of following in his father's footsteps and taking over the family business offered his talents in an entirely different way. Word was there wasn't anyone else on the street who could build a bomb half as well as him, or hack into something as fast or build a car that would run better than if he got his hands on it.

So they let Obadiah run the family business after Howard died and they let Tony do what he did best. Or at least, that's what the rumors said. Clint's not really sure what's truth and what's fact, he just knows that he's been sent down to see a man about a dog, except the man's Tony and the dog is a weapon that'll take out the target that the Boss wants gone.

It's not his job to ask question, not really, it's his job to point, aim and pull the trigger when he's told to. May not be very moral but he's good at it and it does pay the bills and some besides.

"Stark?" He calls out as he pushes his way into the rather impressive set-up the man's got, hand twitching at his side, toward his firearm when there isn't initially an answer, but instead a maze of half-finished projects. Clint never did like surprises. "You alive in here?"

[Well, the Brotherhood went tits up. They're all either dead or cured, and Pyro is a wanted man for escaping both, so where else could he go but back to the streets?

Except that he had a taste of power, and he wasn't ready to let that go. He wasn't going to be another scrawny, faceless kid (nearly 20, getting to the age where pity wouldn't work anymore) dodging security cameras and sleeping under bridges. He had some cred from the Alcatraz incident, he still had his powers, and he had a combination of recklessness and viciousness that could surely serve some of the underground networks within the city.

He's not quite in yet, though. There's training to go through, just like a desk job, and the leader himself has come down from on high to see him through it. It's a good chance both to see if this guy is worth the trouble and to prove himself if he is, so he's keeping quieter than usual. Occasionally, when it's worth enough, he can behave. For a time, anyway.]

Maylene watched the cop make his way through the streets and let her legs swing freely from where she was perched on a highrise crane. It was Saturday so there wasn't more than the slightest chance she might actually be roused from her nest and it was such a wonderful vantage point. One of the mobs had contacted her about a job silencing a pair of blueshirts but she liked to case a job before accepting anything. And so far, the redhead hadn't seen anything so extraordinary about this one to actually warrant her set of skills. Well, other than the pair's rather impressive good looks.

Which just meant she'd have to do a little more digging. Such a drag... Maylene sighed and stood up. Evidently a move that drew the eyes of a workaholic. A maid on a highrise crane? Shouts erupted, attention drawn, even on the streets below people started clearing out while gasping about the 'jumper'.

When you're like that it gives you ideas you shouldn't have--ideas like maybe the family's taken crime too far. Ideas like maybe it's time someone put the breaks on their worst excesses.]

[ All of his exchanges and all the attempts and seemingly difficult struggles in between were inherently calculated. Advancements were difficult in this line of business, even more so as one’s relations stray, and each individual’s experience only serves to dull their nerves from the core. It’s not a business he placed much consideration into, nor was it one he had particular or specific qualms against. He merely wanted to… shift the balance of powers; to see those who ridiculed, scorned, and derided others to, inexorably, have a taste of their own medicine. To feel the bitter prickle of extraneous “antibiotic” to slide their gritty throats, and for the sensation to continually boil in the very pit of their pitifully deep and over-zealous stomachs.

For this mission alone, he had to find someone who innately trusted him. It wasn’t all too difficult considering his own connections, or the sheer fact that vulnerability was easy to come by and easy to exploit. All he had to do was put on a façade and play the acrimonious role of a diligent and painstakingly conscientious “servant.”

Out of habit, he checks his weapons on his person once more before tenderly knocking on the lavishly adorned door in front of him. In the inauspiciousness of the moonlight, his glasses catch the light in a particularly strange fashion; causing a glare to refract and conceal his eyes and whatever not-so-pure intentions he had.

It was almost a shame that this farce had been almost a little too artless. Whether he could proactively get this done, however, was vaguely up in the air; left to the hands of someone he regarded as quite fickle and unbelievably willful, regardless, the uncertainty was half the adventure. As if on cue, he recites the same lines with practiced ease. The "code word," if you will. ] Your Highness. [ The deep tenor of his voice sinks into the stillness of the night, and seems to prelude whatever deeds the pair were likely to involve themselves in. ]
