TYPES OF SCENES
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.

⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.

⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.

CRACK.

② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!

[The hood of her cloak remains up even as she sits at the table across from him, helping obscure most of her face her unruly hair doesn’t. Hand in lap, bag held firmly to her person with the strap still across her shoulder. It doesn’t leave her sight. She’s already refused a drink several times.]

You know I don’t like meeting in places like this. [Her voice is so flat. And it takes everything for her not to let out the biggest sigh of annoyance. A deal is a deal, and hers don’t entail public meetings like this.] What’s so important this time?

[Her eyes are darting. He wouldn’t be able to tell. She barely flinches where she sits. But the noise inside is so loud it’s nearly impossible for her to stay still. She’s trying so hard.

She never wants to draw attention to herself, but every time she enters a room there’s a noticeable pause to all activity. Plenty of stares. Hushed whispers. All of which she ignores and pushes past. Let them talk. Let the rumors blaze out of control. The more folks leave her alone the better.]

[ If there is one thing Forge Fitzwilliam is better at than keeping secrets, it's knowing when a secret is being kept from him. Not that dear Mia makes it particularly hard to tell there's some kind of burden on her shoulders, but, in his humble opinion, anyone would be hard-pressed not to notice that there's an aura about her that suggests any number of things, from ancient curse to cursed object to— well, something that both makes him want to stay as far away as possible, because who really has time for curses, and makes him want to investigate.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the latter instinct has won out, at least for now. The smile that seems permanently affixed to his features has yet to wane, and, if anything, the lively environs seem to have been a purposeful choice more than a chance decision. ]

I was hoping for a little, oh, lightening of the spirit, or something like that, but if you really want to force my hand— [ he laughs, like it's a joke, like they've been getting along like a house on fire ] —perhaps a little honesty between friends?

[ To illustrate just how earnest he's being, he puts down his cup of wine (his second), and gives her a meaningful look across the table. ]

I hardly think it's any secret that you've got ... more on your mind than the average citizen, and it hardly seems fair to let you bear all that on your own.

I’m not your friend.

[The girl wastes no time blurting that one out. Because why would she want to be friends with a guy like him? The work is easy. He pays well. That’s where the relationship ends. He needs to be reminded as often as possible because the arrangement clearly isn’t getting through.

(Plus she doesn’t do friends. Not anymore. They’re nothing but a liability.)

Her throat clears, her lips flattening into a line showing the least amusement. Okay - maybe she shouldn’t have just run her mouth like that. It’s entirely unprofessional. But it’s just - infuriating. To a degree. He thinks he’s such a smooth talker. The way he laughs and smiles and thinks it’s just going to give him everything he wants. So much charm it’s disgusting. The tactic hasn’t worked on her before, and it won’t now. The whispers inside her head tell her just enough to make themselves useful. They look out for her sometimes, and for that she’s grateful.

She’s terrible at keeping secrets. She wears them on her sleeve. It’s something she’s working on - honestly - but she counts on her fabled reputation, all the gossip and hearsay that’s spread around, to keep most bothersome individuals away. Keep things mysterious, keep yourself safe.]

My trouble is my own. Not yours. [She shakes her head a few times, perhaps too hard, hand instinctively reaching up to pull her hood back up after it falls some from the movement. The darkened veins peppering her pale, nearly translucent skin peek out for the briefest moment. The diseased-looking iris of her eye all red and green and mud. The tips of her fingers are singed, nails darkened and curved into the sharpest points. Some broken. Anything but perfect.] You shouldn’t worry yourself too much about it.

[Ah, the wine. It’s so tempting. She’s already said no to any sort of drink, and he’s already been putting it away like it’s nothing. But the smell is so intoxicating it’s difficult to ignore. She keeps looking at his cup, catches herself doing it, forces herself to look away. Still - iron will. She shouldn’t. She mustn’t.]

Is this about a job or what? Idle chatter is off the table. I’ve told you before. We discuss work and that’s that. If you don’t have anything worthwhile for me, I’ll take my leave. [And she starts to get up from her bench.]

[ Forge makes a show of wincing, though that, too, is played with a laugh as he feigns injury. It's a line she's drawn in the sand more than once, and though the truth of the matter is that friends have never really meant that much to him, it's generally been the easiest way — besides burning the kinds of bridges he is a little wary of burning with her, given her ... condition — to get what he wants, which is, in a word, everything. (She reminds him of Holga, a little, though Holga has a somewhat more devil-may-care attitude about things. Mia, he'd say, is a little more devil-does-care-and-maybe-a-little-too-much.)

He's also aware, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that his particular brand of charming his way in and out of things isn't one that she finds especially appealing, but it's the only way he has, so long as he isn't willing to be honest — which he isn't. Yet, anyway. ]

Well, yes, but your trouble seems— quite persistent, in all the time I've known you.

[ Only when Mia starts to get up does Forge's attitude change — his smile a little sharper, his gaze a little harder to read. (He's never been a man who's ever been content with not getting what he wants, regardless of low or high stakes. And, frankly, it does bother him a little that he can't seem to get through to her at all. But, then again, he supposes, that's what the money is for.) ]

Fine. Fine! Work it shall be. Please, sit.

[ He waits until it's clear she won't go, at least not immediately, to continue speaking. ]

We work well together, don't we, you and I? I simply wish to ensure that our working relationship will ... will remain similarly robust, and unencumbered by any potential malevolent forces which may or may not be an obstacle to your continued wellbeing.

…Does it affect the quality of my work?

[The “trouble,” she means. And the answer would be: no. He should know this. She wants to hear him admit that out loud.

She’s been a more than capable business partner, able to deliver mostly anything he asks for. Zero questions asked, zero hesitation, zero mess. Scary and unpredictable at times, yes (and also much too secretive), but very reliable. That’s her. If this is some sort of unprompted performance review…

He manages to stop her before she moves away from the table, and she regards him with narrowed eyes full of skepticism. Her hand grips the bag hanging at her side. So protective. The mention of “malevolent forces” gets the voices hissing, borderline shrieking with giggles. She visibly winces, a grimace flashing across her features. It’s too loud for the moment. Too crowded. She wants to snap at them to shut up but dares not utter a word. Not when she’s in someone else’s company like this.]

They’re not. [The faintest twitch of a smile. It looks odd on her, unnatural. Like it doesn’t belong with her sunken features.] But thank you for your concern.

[She takes a deep breath, lets out a slow and steady exhale, then sits down again. Bag in lap as usual.]

Do you have an assignment for me or are you just wasting my time? I’ve had other offers - plenty that I’ve been turning down because I choose to remain loyal to you, Forge. My patience is thin. My pockets are—-

[Wait.

She pauses mid-sentence.

The slightest head tilt. It’s as if she’s listening to something - but what?]

You only speak of my well-being because you want something from me. [She scoffs at this.] Something beyond the scope of our usual agreements. [Her head tilts to the other side. Nice and slow.] Is this true?

[And she stares him down, unblinking. Her eyes are worse when you’re forced to look at them head-on. Unnerving to say the least.]

[ The part of Forge that he puts forward toward the world is, of course, not an entirely genuine one. He wouldn't still be alive if it were — that smile he wears disguises a certain ruthlessness, an inability or at least an unwillingness to become attached to anyone or anything besides his own material gain. And were he truly incompetent, the web of lies and falsehoods he's spun would have already collapsed.

And so it's not a frown that crosses his features when something other seems to enter the conversation. Rather, it's another smile, this one sharper, less friendly than his usual expression. In part, it's satisfaction upon being proven right that there's something else, something more sinister to his associate; in part, it's annoyance at having his hand forced. But there's no point in wasting his breath on what has already come to pass.

She looks him in the eye, and, remarkably, he doesn't look away. (Not that he likes looking into those dead eyes — awful, really.) He weighs his options, of course — the benefits of looking weaker than he is versus standing his ground in some capacity. The compromise he reaches is to soften his demeanor somewhat, raising his hands in a conciliatory gesture. ]

Got me, [ he says, as though it were some sort of prank or joke between them. ] What I want is actually rather close at hand. Nothing too fancy— a book, actually.

[ A pause. His eyebrows rise ever so slightly. ]

One I've been led to believe is in your possession.

[Of course he doesn’t answer her question. Because the quality of her work is superb and they both know it. If he’s going to breeze past the subject then so is she.

The sorceress continues to stare. Her expression as dead as her eyes. The slightest twitch as patience visibly thins. That’s right, take your time fabricating another fib. She knows the routine. He does deserves credit for not allowing himself to look away from her gaze. She nearly smiles at that. Not many choose to engage with her in this way, barely even give a second glance in her direction. Looking her right in the eye? That takes a lot of courage. Or just the absence of intelligence altogether. For some animals eye contact means aggression, assertion of dominance, a challenge. She is that animal.

She doesn’t laugh at his poor excuse of a joke. Just blinks and settles against the low back of her chair, tap-tapping at her bag where it rests.]

A book? [An eyebrow quirk.] What book? [Has he ever seen her use one? No.] You need to be more specific, Forge. Plenty of reading material out there.

[She leans forward, elbow on the table, chin in her hand. She mirrors his expression, both eyebrows up. Feigning interest. Humor her, please. The longer she sits here the longer she goes without a paying job.

There’s more giggling from the corners of her mind. They get a mental thank you. At least something is looking out for her.]
