The city never changed, no matter how much they all did. Gotham had a life of it's own. Tonight was no different and yet something felt off, the air charged like something was going to explode, like the city was just waiting.

He perched on a rooftop, overlooking the streets as his gaze searched for any sign of trouble, something to pull his attention away from whatever it was that was in the back of his mind.

But it did no good, the street below was eerily silent and for Gotham, that was strange.

[It's far too late for her to be in her office, and yet Bruce isn't surprised in the slightest to find her there. He knocks gently on the doorframe. Really, he'd been in town mostly to hear Tony's side of things; he has a knack for knowing when a friend needs to talk. But after hearing all of it, he has a hunch that Pepper might be just as short of an uninvolved shoulder to unload on.

Particularly considering the fact that science has burned her, lately. Bruce knows what it's like to have something smoldering under your skin, even if his is more of an acid to her flames.]

[Arthur doesn't know where they are exactly. This isn't his dream. That alone layers the situation with a substantial amount of risk. Maybe that's the reason why the atmosphere of the night is thick with tension, why the desert air around them tastes especially dry, and seems to crackle.

Bane, though he went to sleep in a concrete warehouse somewhere with a vaguely Soviet feel to the architecture, will find himself sitting suddenly near a fire, with the stars just beginning to come out. The sounds of the rest of the camp around them are distant, faintly muted. Only Arthur is sitting close enough to really be in focus.]

[Tsukumo doesn't like how quiet the streets are as she jumps from rooftop to rooftop, searching for some thug who thought it wise to attempt to hold up and blow up an important government building. She'd succeeded in driving him out, but lost him during the subsequent pursuit. To make matters worse, he's still very much got those explosives.

So when she sees the lone figure of Rivaille not too far from her position, she leaps down gracefully behind him, greeting him with a warning and a placid look.]
