( It feels like an eternity has passed since Eddie had turned. And maybe it has, because time feels irrelevant now that he is a slave to the sun, relegated to staying in an apartment with blacked out windows during the day and waiting for the sun to set, when he can walk amongst the living without fear of burning to ash.

At least he's no longer alone. He hadn't planned on turning Steve, but when he had been gravely injured trying to keep the others safe, he had been left with no choice. And now he waits for the newly created vampire to awake and learn of his plight. While there is certainly the chance that Steve will resent him for this, he hopes the he will understand.

Which is perhaps why he waits with a gift. It's not much, just a little bit of blood to welcome him into the world of the undead, but maybe this peace offering will be enough. And if not, well...it's only for eternity that they're bonded now. )

[There's a weird taste in his mouth when he comes to, like his head hurts, but it's not a physical pain. It's just an overwhelming sensation, likely from the new senses hitting him at once. He's slow to sit up, barely hearing Eddie's voice, but acknowledging that it's something familiar to him.

There's a hand on his head, memories slowly come back to him before he's gasping-- as if he needs the air he's forcing into his lungs right then.]

--what the fuck. [He's looking around suddenly. He should be dead. He should have bled out. But he's not. He's not even in a fucking hospital.]

Eddie? What the fuck. [It's not anger or even annoyance, just mass confusion. He doesn't understand how he got here, and why Eddie's here with him right now. Why his head still feels like it's throbbing despite the pain actually not being received. It's just all a little too much.]

[ kaveh has outlived many people he's cared about because being a vampire naturally means seeing humans age and pass on if he makes no move to stop it from happening. he's never held it against those who turned down the idea of an immortal life, though he often finds himself thinking about what it would be like if any of them were at his side so many years down the road. being so selfish as to force that upon people he loved has never really been in his nature, so kaveh long accepted the idea of being alone and instead using his life to better those he comes into contact with.

it's how he ended up with a found family, a nest of vampires he ended up adopted into, a new group of people he cared for deeply. enough so that years together with them made him begin to let go of the thought of being alone.

and then he lost them as well, a betrayal from the inside that he finds out about a couple of days too late when he walks into the house they all share to find the scene of a massacre. he's horrified as he makes his way through the house and checks everyone, trying to see if even a single member survived and numbly noting the single missing party from the group once he's taken everything in.

he's standing in the middle of the living space, looking stunned and despondent, when the door is kicked in and he's jarred from the grief that threatens to consume him.

hunters. he hears a mention of how the house reeks of blood and one of them question what the fuck happened in the house. and, with only the thought of getting away, kaveh quickly and silently heads to the back door to sneak away, not considering that the house could easily be surrounded in the swirl of everything that he feels. ]
