FRANDS
FRIENDSHIP MEME
( because love takes many forms. )
( because love takes many forms. )

Friend;
noun
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile.
4. a member of the same nation, party, etc.
| Old Friends 1. Just chillin’. You just enjoy each other’s company, and you’re spending time somewhere that the only thing that matters is both of you, doing your thing. 2. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Hey man, my car broke down. Also, I might have to come stay with you a while because my significant other kicked me out... One of you is in a pickle! Time to test how far this friendship can go. 3. Bros b4 hos, man. Chicks b4 dicks. I’m really happy for your success in finding someone who might be interested in seeing you naked, but you need to remember that your friends need time too. Jealousy and friendly concern regarding relationships go here. 4. We’re gonna paint the town. Inflicting your friendship upon society. Maybe you’re going out for a party, maybe you’re just driving around. DO something together! Try something new! 5. I get by with a little help from my friends. You or your friend is in need of some emotional support during a difficult time. Whether it’s a shit situation or just whining, a friend is obligated to deal and give advice. Or are they? 6. Get in, loser, we’re going shopping. Whirlwind adventure time! Kidnap your a friend from their mundane schedule and play hookey! Run away together! 7. I love you, man. Showing your appreciation and affection for your friend, be it in gifts, gestures, or just an outright thank you. 8. Gurl, hold my poodle. A fight has broken out, and either one or both of you are involved. Do you/the friend break up the fight or jump right in to defend? Or maybe you’re in a situation neither of you could avoid - perhaps it’s war instead. What sort of team are you? 9. Long-lost. You’ve been driven apart by distance or circumstances, but you finally have the chance to see one another again. What’s the reunion like? 10. Misery loves company. Commiserating together. Maybe you’re stuck at a really boring afair, maybe you’re complaining about men/women/work. You’re allowed to be as nasty as you want in front of your best friends! 11. E tu, Brute? Betrayal. Whether intentional or not, one of you has let the other down. They’re not the person you thought they were. 12. I only tell you this because I care. Advice, possibly unsolicited. Your friend has been doing something you don’t like and you’re going to let them know. Yes, that dress does make you look fat. 13. Thinking of you. So I saw this hat on my way through the mall and thought of you! I found this cool/funny video and thought I’d pass it on! I felt like baking cookies and thought you might appreciate some. 14. Why are we friends, again? Argument! Know someone long enough and you’re bound to get in a few! Is someone just in a terrible mood? Or is there an actual issue? Fight it out, big or small! Small to big? 15. Too good of friends. Make-up prompt. You two got into it, and now it’s someone’s turn to step up and be the bigger person to preserve the friendship. How do you show you’re sorry? Is forgiveness possible? 16. Obligatory wildcard. Pick your own! New Friends Icebreakers for new interactions! Reasons (Optional): 1. Convenience. You work together and carpool. You’re neighbors. You have the same classes. It’s just easier to get along than ignore each other. 2. Through an Acquaintance. They’re a friend of a friend, so naturally, you’ve had to deal with them every so often. But maybe you want to see what they’re like when it’s just the two of you? 3. Hardship. They came to help you out when you needed it, despite being a stranger. Comrades in arms. 4. Intrigue. You seem pretty cool. Want to hang out sometime? Prompts 1. Party. So you should be friends with me, because I can drink a yard of beer and I’ve got the moves like Jagger. 2. Venue. Going to the movies, having lunch together, checking out the fair that came through town. It’s like a date, except getting to know them doesn’t come tied with a relationship. 3. Favor. Hey, I’m going out for a weekend. Would you mind feeding my cat? Can I borrow a little bit of money and pay you back later? 4. TMI. Um. No, I didn’t know you had a foot fetish! And I’m really not sure how I feel about it. I really don’t care how many cats you have. I’m not at liberty to discuss how much money I have. 5. Advice. Hey, do you mind giving a second opinion? Also, you never knew this about me, but I’m actually a ninja as a night job and I can give you some help with that self-defense issue you’ve been having? 6. Philosophy. Friendship’s first deep, serious conversation. What do you think of this current issue? What’s your religious standing? 7. Call me, text me. Hey, what’s up? NM here, just bored at work. Want to play Words with Friends? Casual conversations at a distance. 8. Forced association. Well, I’d better get going... nevermind, it looks like it’s flooding outside. Um. Usually the drive is ten minutes, but usually traffic isn’t a fifty-car pile-up... know any showtunes? 9. Upgrading. Roll from the Old Friends category and see if this friend is able to take the leap! 10. Wildcard Yep. |

Re: Wanda Maximoff | MCU | OTA
He can't help his heart going out to the lonely, desolate figure of the young woman standing in the middle of the outline foundations of a house, her eyes lingering on each breeze block as if it held memories only she could remember, an immense sadness in the droop of her shoulders.
He has a vague idea of who she is. He was drawn to Westview by some of the chatter about a strange new power in an American town suddenly cut off from the rest of the world, curious rather than scared or judgemental. He still hasn't really managed to sort out what actually went down here, but he knows what loss looks like and whoever Wanda is, whatever she's done, all he can see is personal loss on a scale that few people can understand and he's one of those few. All he wants to do is help, if he can.
He steps forward, to the threshold of the property but not over it. He wouldn't invade the space she's claimed for her own.
"I don't want to rush you," he says, deliberately casual, hands deep in his trouser pockets, making his coat billow about behind him in the breeze. He gives her a small, sympathetic smile. "But you might want to think about about getting out of here before they come looking for you."

All Wanda can feel is the isolation and loneliness pressing in around her, oppressive and heavy, a weighted blanket she can't get off and the taste of imminent thunder in the air all at once. She tries to focus on breathing, on ignoring the sharp pains pulsing throughout her whole body at everything she's lost.
Every time she thinks she knows what Hell feels like, life finds a way to drag her even deeper into despair and heartbreak.
She shouldn't linger, she knows, but she can't bring herself to move, as if her stillness might allow to recover all she's lost. Internally, of course, she knows that isn't how it works.
She's so caught up in her own pain, she doesn't hear the man behind her until he moves forward and speaks. Startled, she turns, glancing at him with widened eyes.
"I...I'm sorry, do I know you?"
no subject
"No, but I'd like to help, if I can. I've been where you are, gone through some of what what you're going through." (Well, except he'd never had the power to bring them back, and would he have tried that if he could? He doesn't know.)
He gives her a tiny, sad smile and offers his hand. "Captain Jack Harkness. Ex-Time Agent, ex-conman, ex=Torchwood, everlasting immortal and currently just wanting to help someone in need."
He glances over his shoulder, towards the centre of the little town. "They're starting to head this way. I'd suggest heading out, if you can bear to."
no subject
She arches an eyebrow when he describes himself.
"Ex-Time Agent?" She asks, her shoulders relaxing a minute amount as she considers him and his offer.
When he mentions that people are heading this way, she turns to where he glances over his shoulder. Her magic tells her that he is right.
"Well, I guess I can't really stay here," she says, glancing around at the place that was to be her home with Vision. Her heart clenches inside of her chest. She turns back to this Captain Jack, considering him another moment before replying.
"I'm open to suggestions."
no subject
"Much more of a freelancer nowadays," he adds, and follows her gaze round at the pitiful concrete blocks that are the only truly real part of the home she constructed here. His lips twist with sympathy, and blue eyes meet hers when she asks for suggestions.
"Anywhere away from here! I have a place in New York, if that helps? It's not much, but could be somewhere to head to begin with? You can fly, right? Or I can teleport us, at a pinch, though it's not terribly reliable."
no subject
"Sounds like an interesting line of work," she says. "Freelancing working out any better for you?"
"Where in New York?" She asks. "I can fly, but I might have a way of getting us there even faster if you tell me where to go."
no subject
Which include empathising with and helping out some whom the Time Agency and indeed Torchwood would have tried to arrest.
Dark eyebrows arch upwards as he re-evaluates swiftly. "I can give you the exact co-ordinates," he offers, flipping open the wide leather strap around his wrist to reveal a mini computer. He taps a couple of buttons and brings up the co-ordinates of an old Torchwood safe house. Just a little apartment in Queens, but it should give them a place to start from, where Wanda can be safe while she decides what she wants to do.
no subject
She arches an eyebrow as he opens up what looks to be a mini-computer on his wrist. She doesn't know how she can still be so surprised by technology, given her experiences with it, but life keeps finding a way to catch her off guard, it seems.
She studies the coordinates for a couple of moments before closing her eyes and bringing up her right hand, beginning to move it in a slow circle counterclockwise.
"Okay, this should bring us directly where we want to go."
She opens her eyes, and there before them stands a glowing, orange portal, leading them directly to that little apartment.
no subject
He smirks a little at having surprised her with his wrist computer, given the company she's been keeping, but doesn't say anything. Just fastens it safely closed again as he steps back and watches Wanda do her thing. Her incredibly impressive thing. Excitement and anticipation thrill down his spine as the portal takes shape, an instant gateway through to his safe house.
"That is... wow," he breathes, with a respectful little incline of his head because - yeah - he's never seen anyone do anything like that without tech of some kind. He fancies he can almost feel the raw power emanating off her.
"Okay, well - let's go, then!" he gets out, stepping one foot gingerly through the opening, the give of carpet beneath his foot feeling jarringly odd as he turns back to offer Wanda his hand to help her through. "Welcome to my safe house!"
It really is a tiny apartment, just a room with a couch and a kitchen, and a little bedroom and bathroom off that. But it's almost certainly better than pitchforks, metaphorical or otherwise.
no subject
She nods, reaching out to take his offered hand, and follows him through the portal into his safehouse. Once she's entirely the way through, she turns around and with another gesture, closes the portal.
She glances around. He wasn't kidding about the size of the place, but that hardly bothers her now. It feels cozy, and safe, and that's all that matters to Wanda at the moment.
"This is nice," she says earnestly, turning back to face him with a small smile. "Cozy. It reminds me of home, in a way." Her apartment back in Sokovia, with her parents and Pietro, before it got destroyed.
no subject
If only teleporting via vortex manipulator were that smooth! Even when the damn thing did decide to work properly.
He turns and surveys the apartment they've ended up in. There's a thin film of dust over everything (Torchwood doesn't exactly have the budget these days to hire regular cleaners for these places) but it's quiet and empty, and apparently it feels all right to Wanda too, and that's what matters.
"Good," he smiles, leaning down to dust off the couch a bit and then gesturing her to sit. If she does, he'll lower himself into the corner of the couch opposite her, deliberately easy and non-threatening. "Where's home?" he asks casually, because he really doesn't know that much about her and he can't quite place her accent.
no subject
She follows him to the couch and sits down. The layer of dust over everything is familiar, too, and she smiles at the sight of it.
When he asks about home, she considers her answer for a couple of moments before replying. "Sokovia," she says. "I haven't been back since...well. Since it was nearly destroyed." Her accent comes out stronger when she mentions Sokovia. Something about the name of her country always brings out the strength of her accent.
She considers him. "And you? Where is home for you?"
