Oh, forgive me. I didn't realize it was a form of entertainment for you. I'm sure if we were much better acquainted, I wouldn't have been so concerned.

... please do not misunderstand. You have naught to apologize for - I was, in fact, broding rather unbecomingly, and your words did help me remember my balance, for which you have my thanks, as well as the apology for worrying you.

And at the same time, better acquaintance is never unwelcome.

And, well. Work, mostly. Spend time with Emet-Selch, when he has the opportunity.

Ah, exactly what I would do. Well, except for spending time with Emet-Selch. He doesn't really spend a lot of leisure time around me.

Now I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen him at leisure.

Hehehe, he does have his moments, but he also does take his work very seriously. But we have known each other for quite a while, the three of us.

[ and go out for nights of revelries, if that one nier gacha event can be believed. ]

I would say that with me you could sneak up on him and catch him at leisure, but his Sight is nearly as good as mine, and the chance to sneak on him is rather low. So I suppose patience is your only recourse if you do wish to see him so.

Oh, I don't doubt that. Sometimes Azem tells me stories.

Are you saying that you like to sneak up on him? Or simply that you could? His skills truly are spectacular, so I can't imagine such a feat is easy.

[ child, no, these three are just a thing of their own... perhaps you will get your own time that matters just to you. before you lose it, but then again, who didn't. ]

Ah, no, of course not. But familiarity allows him to not be concerned with the state in which I see him, sight that I sadly cannot share with many. But time can bring familiarity, too, so patience might bring you what I cannot.

I must admit I do wonder at times how much time will pass before I am no longer seen as a little brother. It's not an unpleasant form of companionship, but it's not quite the same.

Hmm... what would you wish him to see you as, if I may ask?

Well, more of a friend? It feels a little silly to say.

Not at all silly, truly.

It takes time and trust, for him to see someone so. But 'tis far from impossible. Until then - please remember that him seeing you as a little brother need not mean he lacks respect for you. And that will grow as the years pass.

Oh, of course it's understandable for such a thing to be quite far off. It's just a thought I have sometimes. I suspect it affects me more when I express a concern with him, and he tells me it will make sense when I'm older.

... oh does he, now. I may need to have word with him about that. It seems an unusual lack of respect for one of the Convocation for him.

[ hythlodaeus sounds half playful, half serious. but the ones with a certain amount of irreverence for the Convocation are Azem and himself, never Hades. Not without good reason. ]

To be fair, it doesn't happen often. And it's usually a personal concern. He has every right to feel he doesn't want to discuss such matters with me for whatever reason he may have.

[ He's generally much more careful with his words, so he's quick to amend, chastising himself for the lapse in thoughtfulness. This is why it's a good idea to just stick to work. ]
