Adonis said I should stop by if I was in the area.

I'm aware you don't know me but I have news that I need to share with you when you have a minute.

[ The text did her no favors but she wasn't about to tell this vampire that David was dead through text. Fuck, she didn't want to say it out loud either but she knew she would have to.

The last thing she wanted to do was be in this hotel room in small-town Virginia where she sensed more than just a few vampires. No, she wanted to be out there and hunting those bastards down but she needed to plan first. They wouldn't go into it half-cocked. ]

That's certainly an interesting start to a conversation but color me intrigued.

Private introductions or would you prefer somewhere in public?

[callmeles]

Can't promise that intrigue will last very long.

I could use a drink but would also prefer somewhere a little quieter than a busy bar.

[ Frankly, she had no idea how this guy would react and truth be told, she was mentally side eyeing Adonis in having her be the one to relay the news. Asshole. ]

If you trust me, I have a pretty good scotch waiting at my place.
Adonis would accept that offer but I understand if you don't.

[ Did she trust him? Probably not as far as she could throw him but he was David's sire and she was going to at least give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Besides. It was probably better to share the news in a private location vs in public. ]

I'll see you this evening. The others will be out. Which is both promising and probably threatening.

[ It might be obvious that he's taunting her, and he's enjoying it. ]

No, that's certainly true. For better or worse.

[ She rolls her eyes at the taunt. She probably should be a little apprehensive to meet him but at this point, she was running on a diet of rage, hurt, and motivation and couldn't find it in herself to feel nervous or apprehensive.

Would he attempt to kill her and if he did, would she really care? As much as she'd like to say no, she didn't care, she was rapidly becoming focused on something that started when she and Adonis parted ways in London. So, okay, she would care if he did try. Not that she was sure he would actually succeed. ]

[ And by the time he had told her he'd see her, he had cleared out others and he's just the only one there in that massive, rambling home.

It's been years since he'd seen David or Adonis, though they kept in touch through the decades. Both boys were doing well, and he had been glad for the knowledge they were part of his line out there and happy and doing well.

Though he had to wonder about this. Why she was the one there, and why neither of them were with her. ]

[ Piper arrives at just the time he'd said and knocks on the large door. As she waits, she takes the moment to study the place and the area around them - sensing just the one vampire inside.

Earlier she'd texted Adonis to let him know she was meeting Klaus this evening and also to call him an asshole for not being the one to do it himself or being here with her. He'd just sent back a thumbs-up and a middle-finger emoji. ]

That asshole...

[ She mutters to herself, hearing footsteps on the otherside of the door and exhales a slow breath. ]

[ The door opens and Klaus considers her for a long moment, not saying a word.

Then he smiles, wide and wicked and indulgent as he steps back to let her in. ]

Which asshole? I hope you didn't mean me.

[callmeles]

[ When the door opens and the man considers her for a moment, Piper takes the second to study him in return. He felt... much, much older than any of the other vampires she's come across over the years. Which was, if she understood things correctly, unsurprising really.

Then he gives her that wide and wicked smile. She tilts her head before stepping into the house with an amused sound at the question. ]

No, Adonis is the asshole. I don't know you well enough to call you one yet.

[avenges]

Come in come in. Find you a seat and I'll get us a drink poured.

[ He smiles still as he leads her to the sitting room, gesturing around. ]

As I promised, no one else is here. I'm sure you'll come to the point to call me that eventually. Most do. Double?

[callmeles]

[ She takes a look around as he leads her into the sitting room. However, she doesn't sit and instead continues to stand and look the room over. ]

Somehow I doubt it'll take long before I do. When was the last time you've spoken to David or Adonis?

[avenges]

[ He nods at that, pouring them both one and coming over to present one to her before swirling his own in the glass. ]

Maybe a decade or so? I assume you know who I am to them?

[callmeles]

[ She takes the glass and just holds onto it for a moment, looking into the amber liquid before looking at him with a nod. ]

I do, yeah. They told Jor - my cousin and I not too long ago. I'm Piper, by the way. Piper Allison.

A decade though... so you don't know about her and me. Not that it's the reason I'm here, just a small fraction of the why.

[ She was stalling and doing a piss poor job of it but damn, she didn't want to say it out loud. Her hand tightens on the glass. ]

[avenges]

[ He makes a face, waggling his hand. ]

I know your names, something about witches. The energy though is different though. No one mentioned that.

[ And it was likely they couldn't sense it either. It might be a thing he could do others might be able to do. ]

That begs the question then, doesn't it? About why you're here?

[callmeles]

[ She snorts and takes a long drink from the glass, barely resisting the urge to throw it against the wall. Then, after an inhale she just says it because it would not be any easier. ]

David was killed. By demons, witches and vampires who have a fucking death wish.

[ He wasn't the only one but right here, in front of David's sire, he was the one that mattered. Witch or immortal witch or not, facing the death of people she loved was infuriating.

Logically, she knew Ben... well Adonis now, she reminded herself, was hurting for losing both of them, but he was dealing with it in another way. Was it easier for vampires to face the death of those they cared about? ]

[avenges]

[ Whatever Klaus expected her to say, that wasn't it. Of all his children, David was one who he thought would have the longevity. Marcel and David. And now he's lost one who he thought he'd keep.

His expression darkens, eyes narrowing and his hand clutching darkly at his glass, trying not to break it despite it all.

It cracks despite that and the glass slides against itself, cutting into his hand. ]

So you know who did it? And for now they live?

[callmeles]

No. We don't know everyone involved, but we're working on it. I got the feeling of who and what they were but most of them ran off like the chicken shit bastards they are.

[ Piper was on edge and reining in her magic the best she could. She'd hardly eaten since that night, hardly slept and she could feel her control slip. It was the last thing she wanted to do here - lose control. She couldn't think about how much she missed David and missed Jordan. Not right now. There would be time later. ]

You should know that he was killed because he was walking with my cousin and she was their primary target. They wanted to take out half of the Enchanted and while they succeeded, they now have a pissed-off Enchanted and vampire on their asses.

[avenges]

[ He fights for a breath, moving to the bar and setting the glass in the sink. Picking up a napkin, he plucks a piece of glass out of his hand even as the wound heals and then he cleans off the blood.

Not a word, mostly because he's fighting not to snap right then and there. It's taking everything in him to hold himself together and not destroy a lot.

Especially learning he was nothing to them but collateral damage. ]

What do you know, Witch?

[ He's angry. So fucking angry. Not at her but that doesn't change how much it radiates off of him thinking about it. ]

[callmeles]

[ She knows, deep down, that he's not angry at her (or at least, she assumes so) but probably more at the situation - losing his family - but somewhere in the house, glass shatters as her tightly controlled reign on her magic starts to unravel. ]

I know that I just lost the man that I love and have spent parts of two lifetimes with and a cousin who is the other half of this fucking destiny that we didn't ask for. I also know that I plan to burn them to the fucking ground when I find them. And we will fucking find them.

[ She's likewise not angry at him but at the entire situation and the hurt of losing two people who were so important to her that she can't begin to fathom not having them around anymore. Though she's been dealing with it for at least a week and a half. ]

[ Klaus has sired many over the centuries, but there's some he truly considers his children. David was one of them. Someone he chose, who knew what was coming and accepted their life, who had been like family to him more than family had.

And now he's gone because some demons what.. Shit, he can guess. ]

They were coming for you and the cousin, weren't they?

[ David hadn't gathered many enemies since his days in Ireland. He'd outlived them all. ]

why when i wrote this do i want them to find a way to bring him back. lol

Yes. They were. Because she was the easier target until she turns... turned twenty-one in October.

[ She says it shortly, swallowing hard, because there was no point in lying to him. She already felt guilty enough. ]

Adonis is heading to the Underworld to find out what he can about those involved. You can either keep up by texting him yourself or I can let you know. If you're interested.

[ She drinks back the whiskey then sets the glass down. ]

I should go. I am sorry I had to be the one to tell you.

Oh that would be wicked, and cool and interesting down the road whether it works or not

And so it worked. I'm sorry.

[ He sighs, shaking his head. He's not one for apologies, but he's clear minded enough to know he's not the only one hurting here. ]

Adonis... what a name. I... I will be texting you.

[ He pauses for a moment, thinking about what to say, how to say it. ]

Where are you going?

yess! we can feel it out and see how it goes!

[callmeles]

Me too.

[ She's surprised by the apology and nods when he says he'll text her. She snorts at his mention of Adonis' name. It was the first time he's mentioned anything about his name and she can't help the smirk tugging on her mouth. ]

You have David to blame for that. He and probably Sionnach from what I understand. He says hello by the way.

[ Piper shrugs a shoulder and steps toward the doorway leading toward the hall. ]

Not sure yet but figure there are some hotels around this supernatural town that'll do until morning.

[ After that, she wasn't sure yet. Anywhere that wasn't New Orleans or somewhere that reminded her of them. Not yet. ]
