When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy. How To Play 1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences. 2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever. 3. Thread! Have fun! Do things! Scenarios 1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team. 2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions. 3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in? 4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place. 5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain. 6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was. 7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done. 10. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place? 11. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too. 12. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together. 13. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies. 14. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celbacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad! 15. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally? 16. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are. 17. WILDCARD

[At the very least, Yukina can live in the same world as Bruce these days.

It wasn't always the case. Initially, after she met him - and that had been a strange affair in and of itself, but that wasn't too surprising because both of them were quite strange and it was only a matter of time before SHIELD would unearth that demons walked among humans - she could never stay, always returning to her home of ice in the other world. This meant she could hardly ever see the ragged yet interesting doctor she'd grown so fond of in her brief liaison with what the humans called "secret forces." And, of course, there was little reason to come back, as it'd been decided that her powers were not weaponizable in any capacity...and that her fellow demons, even the ones who'd aligned themselves with humanity before, would not join any sort of team.

She couldn't blame them. She was one of the kindest of her people, and the men in their dark suits and coded language put her on edge. Just imagine how it would be for those who didn't trust anyone, like-

But now, she'd decided to make the human realm her home and distance herself from the other yuki-onna. Their inaction and cruel isolation while the world burned around them had finally rubbed her the wrong way enough times for her to break all contacts. She'd prefer to throw her lot in with the humans, if it had to be that way. The decision had been made with a heavy heart, as the ice island had been all she'd known until her time in the captivity of Gonzo Tarukane, but there were always silver linings. She got to see people she'd left behind, including one Bruce Banner.

Often, when she came to visit him, she didn't announce her presence through words. Instead, she let the natural chilly breeze that surrounded her be a sign. At first, she'd worried that it may be rude, but that never seemed to be a problem with them.]

When Kili gives Bofur the letter for the King Under The Mountain and a small note for his mother, he just smiles. Bofur looks confused. "Won't ya' be joinin' us back--?" And Kili shakes his head.

"I'm going to stay on in the Shire for a bit. Keep Mister Baggins company. I'll catch up." He has no intention of doing so but he knows that if he follows the other dwarves to the Blue Mountains, he'll end up being forced back to Erebor. He can't stomach it. Not yet. "Unfinished business, it's fine."

The letter for Fili, which his brother will receive about three months later, is simple.

The Shire's amazing when you stay more than a day. Staying on with our burglar. Be back soon. I love you.

It's the last thing Fili hears from his brother for the next fifteen years. Oh, there are rumours of a dwarf with the rangers, of a dwarf with the elves, of a dwarf tooling around with all sorts of settlements of Men, but Balin keeps telling Fili not to get his hopes up. If Kili were still alive, he'd be home by now. Why would he stay so long without so much as a letter home?

For that reason alone, Kili is symbolically laid to rest in the tomb beside Thorin's. It's as much to help Fili come to terms with the loss as to give the remains of the Company a place to grieve.

Be back soon - Fili believed it when Kili left on his journey. He believes it when that letter comes. He continues to hope, tries to have his inevitable wedding postponed. Eventually, "soon" can no longer apply and there is still no Kili, not even a few lines of a letter, but the only possible explanation is one that Fili isn't prepared to accept.

He throws himself into being a good king, a good husband, a good son, and finally, a good father. But he refuses to give up on seeking news of his brother - if he could, he'd set out and singlehandedly scour the world in search of him. If not to find Kili alive, by this point, then to give their mother and himself and everyone else some closure.

Kili's empty tomb doesn't shut that door completely. Those rumours are enough, no matter what Balin says, and Fili holds onto them. He'd rather have Kili choosing to stay away without any word than Kili dead.

Whenever time allows it, he visits his uncle and his wife in the vaults. On one such night, he thinks he might begin to believe Balin - he's kept count of the years. The stone lid that has nothing beneath it is a poor substitute, but he talks to it as if Kili could hear him.
