They're not going to interfere. This 'wrong side of the kingdom' thing is bullshit.

I'm working on it. But between his feelings about them and my ex hanging around town, it's not easy.

I really don't know. I thought I wanted to be a big shot in the DC nightlife, but that didn't work out so well.

Technically speaking, I co-own a place in a DC. But, it got a bunch of bad press when I OD'd on opening night in the VIP lounge. So, yeah, it's a little complicated for someone like me.

[sheriffing]

Do you have something you're passionate about?

[ There's a beat of silence, like he's hesitant to say anything on the topic at all. ] I've played the piano since I was a kid.

I've been thinking about it. A while ago, teaching music was suggested and I brushed it off. I might have to eat some crow and ask about getting a foot in the door.

There's nothing wrong with eating crow, I have to do it all the time.

And that sounds less stressful than trying to love the nightlife.

Yeah, well, it's harder to eat crow served by an unapologetic asshole.

[sheriffing]

Yeah, my dad. [ Clearly not his favourite person if the sour face is any indication. ]

I guess unapologetic asshole probably goes a long way in the White House, and nowhere with the family.

It doesn't matter whether he was right or not, if you end up happy with what you're doing.

Mom divorced with good reason. He's not very supportive of anyone but himself.
