YOU MAY KNOW EACH OTHER ALREADY - OR YOU MAY NOT. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU'RE NOW PASSING THE TIME ASKING EACH OTHER QUESTIONS. IT'S A GAME! A QUESTION FOR A QUESTION. YOU START OFF ASKING YOUR OPPONENT A QUESTION OF CHOICE AND IF THEY ANSWER IT, THEY'RE ALLOWED TO ASK YOU A QUESTION IN TURN. THE RULES ARE SIMPLE, ONLY AS LONG AS YOU ANSWER THE OTHER PERSON'S QUESTIONS ARE YOU ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS YOURSELF, BUT THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF TRUTHFULNESS HERE, LIE IF YOU MUST OR WANT, JUST KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING.
How to play -
1. Comment with your character's name, fandom and preference.
2. If you want, leave a question in the comment field that your character is asking their opponent. Or don't. I'm not the cops.
3. Pick other characters to question and have fun!

My family's deaths, though. Those I would like to prevent.
Why do you think you're a coward?
no subject
Because I cannot make necessary decisions if they would hurt others and because I value my life and that of my comrades' over nearly any external goal.
[None of these mad political games are worth a single life, and Linhardt will die on that hill. There are worse things to be than a coward.]
How would you prevent their deaths?

My father went South at the king's behest. That was the start of our trouble. I would prevent that first.
Do you think it's foolish, to plan like this?
[ It's not like it's ever going to happen. ]

[He sounds exasperated because he is exasperated.]
Was that the start of your trouble or the start of when you were aware of it? When monarchs are involved, there are also usually politics, and they are never straight-forward.
What does it matter what I think? I think you should do what pleases you and is a balm to your soul regardless of how foolish it may be. I think nobody has the right to take that from you.

Thank you. I do sometimes think I am being foolish, but you are right. Balms to the soul are so rare at present. Does anything help you, with your troubles?

[At least in Linhardt's opinion. A lot of people think him quite silly and he's a grown man.]
Likewise, there are worse things to be than foolish, particularly the type of foolish that dreams excessively. Those dreams do not lead men to their deaths, or separate families. They do not destroy what has come before. They do not hide knowledge or use others.
I find myself quite helped by spending time in nature, indulging in simple pleasures, and indulging my curiosities. It's impossible to spend much time in nature without noticing the beauty in it, and the simplest pleasures cannot be stolen from you: The taste of a sweet peach on the tongue or the feeling of the sun on you as you wake in the late afternoon.
[He might be forced to be around during this madness, but they can't make him be present.]
And actual dreams.
Have you been able to find any joys of your own?

I might like to spend more time in nature. The winter woods around my castle are said to be quite beautiful. But I have my duties as Queen, and I would not want to bother the guards with something so unimportant. [ There's a soft smile at the thought anyway, which makes her look a bit younger. Or rather, look the age she actually is. ]
I make my own gowns. I was always good at embroidery, and I like the work. I like wearing something I've made with my own two hands.
What is the most beautiful thing you've seen?

[Now that he's in his 20s, Linhardt is starting to cotton on that maybe he and Caspar were allowed to know all the hidden ways in and out of Merceus. Were they sneaking?]
That sounds tedious, but what matters is that it brings you joy.
Hmm.
[Linhardt considers Sansa's question. That he's ever seen?]
If you go out into the ocean off of Enbarr, far enough to where you can't see the shore, there are little schools of different types of glimmering fish that flock together. They all swim together in complex patterns of their own making but never run into one another. It looks like shimmering magic underneath the waves.
