Vampires tend to have a lot of sex appeal. It may be because Evil Is sexy for some, but not all vampires are evil, so maybe it's because they're bad boys or sultry femme fatales. Maybe people just figure hundreds of years of practice at love making makes vampires really, really good at it. On the other hand, the bloodsucking may be a great fetish source, something about a quick sting of pain followed by pleasure.

When a vampire is hungry and isn't quite so decent or hard up as to lower himself to only buying blood at the butcher's or trapping and draining small animals instead, their dietary supplement of preference is human blood. However, vampires can make the experience of being a drink box not just bearable, but pleasurable for the donor.

godric is 2000+ and can be taken from most any time point - before the 1950’s he’s a sadistic bloodbath, though he can be conversated with proper motivation. modern!godric is in a depressive identity crisis, is very polite to humans, and will choke out other vampires for not using a coaster. he fasts to the point of exhaustion, he will drink exceptionally clean blood so as not to become useless.

notably godric acts reserved and restrained in his old age, but beneath that his impulses are self-indulgent, dominating, and sarcastic.

usually modern!godric would do this through a high end service that provides willing blood escorts or possibly if he had a very close relationship to a human. old!godric would not put willing on his list. in both cases his feeding type is young, delicate women that look his age or older masculine men like eric.

[ when the vampires begin to mainstream, the rest of the world is surprised, but Nancy Wheeler isn't. after everything that had happened in Hawkins, she doubts that the existence of anything would truly surprise her at this point. society goes through a bit of an upheaval as the world struggles to comprehend the existence of these purported mythical creatures, but soon enough they're involved in politics, they own businesses, and they embrace their visibility. the world staggers on, as it always has.

there have always been mysterious disappearances, but now they're almost always pinned on vampires, whether they're actually to blame or not. Nancy falls in with Godric while she's investigating a rash of abrupt disappearances, allegedly related to a nest of vampires in the area. he's forthcoming enough, for reasons that she doesn't quite understand, which is useful, because Nancy has a lot of questions at any given time.

he's generally a good sport. tonight, he seems particularly distracted. Nancy sets her notepad aside and fixes him with a look, an eyebrow arching. ]

Godric. [ for a second his name is crisp in her mouth, and then she softens a little: ] Are you okay? Can you focus?

[ the words are imbued with the brimming confidence of youth. she doesn't know just how old he is. if she did, maybe she wouldn't always be so flippant. ]

[ When he'd opened his door to find Eddie on the other side of it he was sure he was hallucinating from lack of sleep. Eddie had said his name then, barely a whisper and Steve had pulled him over the threshold into a tight hug.

His heart had been pounding in his chest, working overtime at the fact that Eddie was alive somehow, even though he'd had to pry Dustin's fingers off his lifeless body. Maybe they'd been wrong. Maybe Nancy had misread his pulse. Maybe Steve had missed the shallowest rise and fall of his chest...

He doesn't think that maybe it's a trick until he feels the sharp stab of pain at his jugular. Until he cries out and tries to push Eddie away only to find that suddenly Eddie's impossibly strong as he pins him against the wall and sucks him dry. The pain only lasts for a few minutes before the lightheadedness takes over. And Steve feels his body relax against his will. He's so tired. His limbs are so heavy. And Eddie's not warm, exactly, but he's holding him. He can't remember the last time anyone's held him. It's kind of nice.

He wakes a few hours later, laid out on his mother's cream couch. He feels weak and dizzy as he blinks blankly up at the ceiling. He doesn't remember how he got there. Doesn't know why he's so tired, or his neck is so sore. When he reaches to rub it, he feels a bandage there, on the right side. And then he remembers and sits up so abruptly it makes his head spin. He reaches for the arm of the couch to steady himself. ] Eddie?

( When Eddie woke up in the Upside Down, his memory had been fuzzy at best. He didn't know how much time had passed, and it took him a long while to piece together what had happened to land him here. There was a voice in his head, filling his mind with images and words, with emptiness and rage, with thoughts of revenge.

With thoughts of picking himself up, waltzing through the nearest portal to Hawkins and taking what's rightfully his.

Which is how he winds up at Steve's. While he doesn't long for revenge, he knows there is something he yearns for, and if that voice can give it to him, he will do whatever its bidding is. He's stronger now, faster, but craves something that no mortal should ever crave. That should probably terrify him, but instead it intrigues him. Vampire, Eddie's mind supplies to him when he recognizes that thing he craves is blood.

Only that voice in his head, the one he remembers calling Vecna, wouldn't know to call him that. Still, he knows it fits.

It had been all too easy to take. Steve was right there, right in front of him, and didn't suspect a damn thing. Maybe a small part of Eddie regrets it, but in the moment when Eddie's teeth sinks into Steve's neck, he finds himself too elated to care.

It isn't until later, when Steve wakes from unconsciousness that Eddie finds any sense of remorse for what he did.

Eddie is perched on the other end of the couch, leaning forward to press a hand to Steve's chest and tries to force him to lay down again. )

Careful, big boy, you lost a lot of blood.

( Lost, he says. As if Eddie isn't the reason behind that. )

[ Steve lets himself be pressed back into the couch, his head spinning as he closes his eyes and tries to gather his wits about him. Eddie is here. He'd felt the push of his hand against his chest, the sound of his voice, the nick name that had sent a twinge of something through him in the RV right before they'd stolen it.

But, Eddie had died. Steve had seen the body himself.

He swallows, opening his eyes and staring up at Eddie. His head feels foggy and detached, like he's floating through his thoughts, but unable to grab a hold of any of them to focus. Steve furrows his brow, trying to hold onto something important, his fingers reaching up to brush his throat. ] You... bit me?

( Eddie hums to himself as he appraises Steve. He's going to need some rest after the amount of blood Eddie drained. He had tried to take only a little, but his hunger had gotten the better of him. He won't be making the same mistake again.

It's probably the bites, that has drawn him back to Steve. It's thanks to the bats that he even lives at all, if this could be called living.

A flicker of a smile appears on his face as Steve remembers the bite. Of course he does, Eddie couldn't take away his memory; that's simply not how this works. He hopes, though, he can make Steve see why he did so. Maybe Steve would be a willing donor next time. )

I did. ( This time, he grins deliberately, so Steve can see the sharp canines he now sports. ) Sorry, I was hungry, and you were there, and... ( He tilts his head to the side, eyes fixated on his throat once more. ) You were delicious.

What do I taste like?

[ He blames the lightheadedness on the stupid question. That and the immense relief he feels at seeing Eddie alive, even if he is a vampire and biting people - or him. He reaches up to cover his throat, his fingers brushing the bandage there.]

He remembers what it felt like to be held, warm in Eddie's arms even as he grew cold and detached. The pain had been short lived, quickly going numb and weightless. He'd felt almost free in a way, with no blood to supply his brain with his usual cacophony of worries and thoughts. The quiet had been nice.

You haven't bitten anyone else, have you? [ He's okay with it, but he doesn't know that everyone else will be. Vampires are traditionally bad guys.]

( Eddie barks out a laugh at Steve's question. Leave it to him to ask him something like that considering the strange situation he's been thrust in. At least he isn't panicking, or trying to run away. Good, this might be easier than he thought. )

Like a fine wine. ( He brushes his fingers across the bandage before tracing his fingers up along Steve's jaw and swiping across his bottom lip. )

No, nobody else. Almost didn't bite you, wasn't sure how you'd react. Now I'm glad I chose you over a stranger. Would've been a lot messier. ( If it seems like Eddie is being overly cavalier about the whole thing, it's only because if he thinks about it too hard he knows he's going to be the one spiraling. It's easier to pretend this whole thing is just another campaign, and that he's just playing a part. Better not to think about how close he could have come to actually killing Steve. )

[ Steve hums a little, satisfied with that answer, though his face goes blank for a moment when Eddie presses his thumb against his lower lip. He shivers a little at the touch, if only because he likes it much more than he thought he would.

He blinks slowly up at Eddie as he goes on, a part of him blooming with pride at the fact that Eddie chose him. He could've chosen anyone and he'd picked Steve. Steve doesn't remember the last time anyone picked him for anything.

Steve reaches up and tugs at the bandage, pulling it free.] No. Drink me. You can have as much as you want. [ He hates the pang of desperation he can hear in his own voice.] I'm all yours.

[ God, there's something wrong with him. He's pretty sure giving yourself up to a vampire is the opposite of what you're supposed to do in this situation. So why does the thought of Eddie leaving and feeding on someone else make his chest ache?

( Steve's eagerness is surprising to Eddie. Part of him expected Steve to be frightened, or disgusted. But instead, he's pulling at his bandage and fucking offering himself to Eddie on a silver platter.

And Eddie, he wants so much, but he knows better than to take and take and take until there's nothing left to take. If he wants to keep drinking from Steve, he's going to have to be careful about this. )

A lovely sentiment, but you need time to recover, my sunshine. But don't you worry about a thing, I've got grand plans for the both of us.

( The grin he flashes Steve is full of fangs, and he hopes it is as alluring and charming as he wants it to be. Because while he might be exuding confidence now, especially with how Steve is reacting to all of this, deep down he worries that this will eventually wear off and Steve will eventually try to run away from him. )

[ Steve nods, eyes still locked on Eddie's mesmerizing and big brown eyes. The grin is alluring, dangerous. It sends a shiver of something through him. He sinks back into the couch with a contented sigh, only registering how sore his neck is when he looks away from Eddie to the ceiling and presses the bandage back in place.]

Whatever you need. [ His voice sounds small and tired to his own ears. He should at least go up to his bedroom to lie down, but the thought of climbing the stairs sends a heavy wave of exhaustion through him. ] I'm glad you're not dead, Eddie.

( The way Steve acquiesces should probably be a concern, but Eddie is much too worried about making sure the boy gets some rest and recuperates, if for no other reason so that he will be ready to feed on later. And the thought of feeding on Steve, on the boy just handing himself over on a silver platter sends a thrill through him. )

What I need is for you to rest. ( He doesn't wait for a response before unceremoniously sweeping an arm across Steve's back and sweeping underneath his knees, scooping him up into his arms, into a bridal carry. ) Here, I'll carry you. ( The corners of his mouth twitch as Steve says that. Glad you're not deat. It's a sentiment he never thought he would hear from the jock, but it's one he could hear over and over again and never be sick of. ) Tell me that again when you wake up.

[ Steve barely manages a sound of surprise before Eddie's carrying him towards the stairs. It should be mortifying, but it's actually kind of nice considering how tired he feels. He thinks about how much stronger he must be to be able to carry him like this. How alive he must be, vampirism withstanding.

He tells him to say it again when he wakes and Steve closes his eyes, letting his head rest against Eddie's shoulder. He'll sleep if Eddie wants him to. Let himself rest. But only for a little while. And then he'll wake and be glad again.

Eddie's not gone. He's right here. ]

( When they reach Steve's bedroom, Eddie gently sets the other boy down on his bed and goes through the motions of tucking him in. It feels nice to be able to do this for Steve. Even though the voice inside of him urges him to finish what he started, Eddie refuses.

Steve is far too special for him to take. No, he has something different in mind for Steve. He briefly wonders if he possesses the ability to turn others into vampires. Wouldn't that be something: the pair roaming the earth until the end of time? It's a nice sentiment, but Eddie does not dare risk killing Steve permanently in the process. )

Sleep, my sunshine. You'll feel better in the morning. ( And Eddie will be asleep by then, of course. They would meet in the middle again, and maybe Steve would be ready to give more of his blood by then. He can only hope at this point. )
