Let's see what's on the agenda for you today, my lord. Hmmm.

It appears as though some rascal with four paws - possibly a teahouse owner?? - has left a small treat for you in your office! I apprehended the letter that came with it and it says he hopes you'll take it easy today, even if your schedule is going to be cut short for a VERY important dinner tonight.

I have set aside only the most critical and time-sensitive documents for you to take care of. It's a smaller stack than you're used to, but that's all the work I am allowing you to do today, under the authority of the Shirasagi Himegimi! [ it doesn't work that way but!! Ayato possibly can't turn down both his retainer and sister! ] I have already set up a station just outside our estate to receive gifts on your behalf, and will be making you a list of things you receive so you don't have to worry about that today. I also made it a point to casually mention your dedication to working hard, even on your birthday, to the work staff of every other important family. Haha, hopefully, that'll be enough to deter some of the more considerate ones from paying us an impromptu visit!

Anyway, now that work topics are out of the way, I'm so excited to celebrate yet another birthday with you, Ayato. Every year is just a reminder of the wonderful life I have come to lead, thanks to your family, and a reason for me to live even more joyously now that I can call you mine. Every day with you is a special one because I fall in love with you in each one, but your birthday is an anniversary of when you came into the world - and I can't help but be all the more joyous for it. Without you, the whole of Inazuma would be startlingly different. [ he wants to write worse off, but that's a step too far with a letter that can be discovered by someone else. they both know what he means, anyway. ] And I am constantly in awe of the love and generosity in your heart, as well as the discipline and sharpness of your mind.

Even if we can't spend the whole day celebrating your birthday, I promise you will have an amazing one! I'll be preparing ingredients for your dinner for most of the day, but don't worry. I'll also come by your office frequently with some yummy snacks and tea and many, many kisses at the ready.♪

Good morning to you as well, and thank you for your kind wishes. Perhaps it's due to receiving your greeting first thing, but as I sit down to send you my reply I suddenly feel as though there's an auspicious feeling lingering in the air today.

In my office, you say? My, my. It sounds like that little rascal has stayed diligent to his training to sneak into such a place undetected. Though you did detect him in the end, didn't you? Such an advanced method of trickery... do you think he learned from me? Or did I learn from him?

But, oh? An important dinner? I don't recall having that anywhere on my schedule. Hmmm... you didn't just let something slip, did you Thoma?

Goodness me. I imagine I'd not be able to go against that sort of authority without facing quite dire consequences. I wasn't anticipating that today's good fortune would manifest itself in the form of the three of you ganging up on me like this. I'm proud of your teamwork.

I'm very appreciative that you've taken care of the more social aspects of this day. And as much as I would of course be grateful for any and all visitors who might bring their blessings, I must say I'm holding out hope that your subtle techniques prove to ensure us a quiet evening.

With work indeed pushed to one side for the moment... allow me to speak my heart to you, my dearest.

Were short, sweet wishes all I could receive from each of you, I would still think myself a blessed man. But to read your words laced with love, and to imagine little Taroumaru scurrying about the estate with a concentrated look in his eye, or Ayaka's brows furrowed in determination as she ponders how to ease my responsibilities for today... My happiness is already beyond measure, and the day has only just begun.

Sometimes I don't know what to do about how much I feel like smiling lately. If one of the other retainers catches me wearing a grin while I'm working, I'm going to have to place the blame squarely on you and see to it you receive an appropriate reprimand. I think one hug per instance would be fitting, as you've conveniently left those out of your list of things I have to look forward to.
