THE GOD MEME

You don't know how, or why, but you now have the power of a god. Scratch that, you are a god, with all the responsibilities (or lack of) the job entails.

How To Play:
♦ In your subject line, include 'god/dess of...' with whatever you prefer to post. This can be anything: god/dess of knowledge, god/dess of french fries, god/dess of wank. Whatever you think your character is most suited to be.
♦ Optionally, describe how they came to be that deity. Have they always been a god? Were they just made a god? Did the head god make them a god for shits and giggles? Did the previous god of, say, tigers make them god/dess of tigers before hightailing it for vacation?

[ So obviously some big wig up in the aether has a really cruel sense of humor because that's the only explanation for ever making this guy a god.

Alistair has not always been a god, he was a human who then became a terribly damaged vampire and now he is possibly the worst god ever. He really wishes that he didn't have to care about the whole having believers thing because he hates people, but here's where it gets really funny (from any perspective other than Alistair's): He needs believers to not go absolutely mental. What was once his need for blood to stay sane-ish (let's be real here, he's never entirely okay)is now a need for at least someone to be a devotee of his.

He really, really wishes that the prick who did this to him wasn't an immortal. ]

[It has become the common thing amoung Gotham's heroes to wear some red article of clothing when you don your costume and step out to defeat evil. A scarf, a bracelet, a square of crimson fabric pinned haphazardly to your shoulder.

It's not an easy matter to explain to outsiders, and so they rarely do, but it is a known fact all the same. Red attracts the attention of the Masked God, the one who fell into the chemical vat as a man and emerged as something greater. He is the protector of heroes, Owl-Bane, the champion of the lost cause and the endless fight against villainy. Criminals profess not to believe in such a god but that's quite all right with Red Hood. As long as one person in his city believes in justice, he will be with them.]

[For devoting his life to the ideals of knighthood far more than his fellow knights, Flynn was born again after the death of his mortal body. [Tributes and prayers to the gods has always been much more a human focus than something his brothers the wolves bother with. They respect the balance of the world in a very different way.

So it's not particularly in the nature of the Huntsman to be setting the antlers of the buck they had hunted here at the altar in the forest. He's not sure what compelled him to do it, but he was there, head bowed a moment in thanks to the creature whose life had been lost to feed him and the pack]

[ Alistair is not a fan of organized religion, it doesn't play well with his general distaste for authority figures. Another well-placed nutshot from the Power that Be a Huge Wanker.

He drops down from the tree he'd been standing in, and when the sunlight hits him he does still sparkle. It's a nice and godly feature to be radiant after all, no reason to modify that.

Personally, he could have done without it. ]

He died as the embodiment of Red Ranger Spirits, sacrificing his life with the hope that all the Ranger Keys he gathered would eventually be returned to their original owners, and for his home planet Earth to be protected. As a reward for his lifetime's work, he was revived as a god of justice, the patron deity of all Super Sentai. To this day, he is still humbled by such a promotion.

He ask for no tribute, nor grand ceremonies of worship; only an oath for any Sentai warrior - or any similar hero/heroine - to uphold peace and justice, and to protect the innocent from the forces of evil. In return, he will grant aid to any follower that seeks his help.

[The awareness, the clarity, was so absolute that it was as though Edgeworth's life so far had been a dream that he'd just woken up from. Suddenly, every criminal case currently in every court system in the world was known to him and those currently playing out in the courtroom were sharing space with his current surroundings in the forefront of his awareness, and yet there was no overload, conflict, or confusion -- his ability to process this... input was apparently far out of line with human capacity. What's more, his awareness of the prosecutors currently arguing within court included knowledge of their thoughts and an unmistakable understanding of how easy it was for him to add to or change them; indeed, he'd already corrected a few dozen particularly stupid arguments instinctively before they could even be spoken just in the minutes since this phenomenon began.

...Honestly, it was disturbing on several levels. Shouldn't every bit of this be impossible? Did this mean he was delusional, and if he wasn't, did he really want to accept the implications? If, dare he consider it, his perceptions did match reality, from whence did these superhuman capabilities come? And did he dare search his newfound memory of every criminal case ever to be tried for the sins of his mentor, his adoptive sister... or himself?]

[God of chaos. It certainly had a ring to it that Discord liked. Before he had been just a simple spirit of chaos, but now he was a God. That changes everything.

So what does a God do all day? Sit on a throne and drink chocolate milk that's what.]

Everyone who wants to change the world, to leave their mark on the universe and carry it toward what they think is a better future, no matter what the cost, is connected to him. He knows their desires, their methods, they look to him for answers. They great silvery grey wings spread behind him are a nice bonus, too. Oh yes, he can work with this.*

[The Music Meister already thought highly of himself. Divinity wasn't that surprising to him; he has the talents, all right. Although what he once referred to as talent now pales in comparison. If he lets his mind lose focus, he can feel the melody in life and nature and the world. With a thought, he can give influence to other musicians - his followers, even if not consciously.]

[Subconsciously, musicians suddenly find themselves drawn to purple and green. He's still a manipulator too, after all. His hypnotic singing is all the more powerful. He hasn't tested it, but he can feel it. Perhaps it's not even hypnosis anymore, just pure, divine influence. Either way, his voice has always commanded respect, and rightfully so. It was always the voice of a deity, now the rest of him matches. What to do with this new power boost? He could rob a bank or whoever he pleases, but what are material possessions to a god?]

[...Okay, he still likes material possessions. But Meister enjoys the thrill of the performance, and of people fawning for him, even more so. Perhaps he'll make his divinity officially known so people know to worship him by name...]

[Waking up on your 18th birthday and finding out your the reborn norse Goddess of War is not exactly the ideal birthday present. Bit ironic that she was born to a pair of peace loving hippies who named their daughter Sunshine Indigo Fisher.]

[ A lot of stories will tell you that everyone has a little spark in them, and that once we're all gone, that spark goes off somewhere to do something else. Well- what if someone's spark's been particularly touched by some force? It might just fan itself into a flame. So if a human's a spark, what then a flame?

Wally's had an odd, yet fun time of figuring that out. He's become the god of speed, or rather like a modern day Hermes. He's a messenger and bridger of worlds, a guide across the seen and unseen. He's young, vibrant, and bright. And maaaybe a bit of a trickster as well. ]
