[ steph runs a hand through her hair, over her face. it's a show of vulnerability she wouldn't have allowed herself just an hour ago, but right now and with what just happened between them — she's still confused and turned on to a point that she doesn't know how to deal with. this, this is completely uncharted territory for her.

she's heard stories, plenty of them, and dirty jokes. she doesn't consider herself a prude. you don't get to work with soldiers, lead them into battle, and not pick up a thing here or there. feeling it, experiencing heat like that born from anger — that's an entirely different story and not for the first time since she's woken up in the future, steph feels lost. ]

[ And that's probably what's really not helping him at all right now, that she's still turned on and that the reasons she gave him have nothing to do with what she wants or whether she can or not, but rather belong to some sort of mental mantra she's got set up that is now apparently going to mean neither gets what they want now and in fact instead spend two hours awkwardly sitting on opposite ends of the couch watching something neither one of their aroused, racing little brains is actually paying attention to. He's frustrated all over again, but doing his best not to show it. Considering how well he typically is with that... God this is such a weird situation. He'd sort of like to go back to maybe three minutes ago when she was shoving him against the wall again, kissing the protestations off his lips. He'd really enjoy doing that again.

Briefly, he imagines pissing her off again and he retaliating in kind but this time knowing he did it on purpose to get that reaction and being okay with it and that time things actually pan out. So, briefly, he fantasizes. And then he comes back and realizes he apparently has to pick a movie now. Fantastic. ] JARVIS, queue up anything out of the archives. I have to, uh. Pass the kitchen [ because there's no way he'll survive sitting on the couch with a boner rn there just isn't not while she's also frustrated still ] on my way - you want something?

[ the thing is — the thing is she wants him, she's more physically aroused than she's been in a long time if ever, but she doesn't want sex to happen like this, born from anger and something as close to hate as she gets. there's plenty of frustration to go around right now.

if he were to kiss her again, she's not sure that she could push him again. she should, she knows that. her lips still feel as though they're tingling from their prior kisses, as though it hasn't already been several minutes, as though this is just a break rather than the end of that little episode.
