┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ the scenarios
① BREAKFAST IN BED;
your partner is up and about -- maybe dressed, maybe not -- and in the kitchen. what are they making you? could it be... grilled cheese?
② HIT ME BABY;
they're such a peaceful sleeper. a peaceful, sexy sleeper. actually there's too much of that sleeping happening. why don't you wake the up, world's kindest alarm?
③ ESCAPE FROM AZKABED;
you wake up to find they're rummaging about for their clothes, about to leave. why the rush, can't you convince them to stay?
④ THE AFTERNOON AFTER;
and the evening, maybe even the morning after after... hours have passed but you just can't leave each other! or maybe one of you just won't...
⑤ HANGOVER FROM HELL;
there's a tiger in the closet, a baby in the bathroom, and a total stranger curled up beside you. who is this person beside you, smelling of tequila and regret? do they know any more about what, or who, went down than you do?
⑥ WET AND WILD;
don't feel too lonely waking up by yourself -- the shower's on and the sound of water falling is mighty inviting. why don't you get cleaned up -- or down and dirty all over again?
⑦ I'LL SLEEP WHEN I DIE;
sleep? what is this sleep thing you speak of? dawn's breaking and neither of you have gotten a wink, or want one. who's ready for round xxx?
⑧ A BITTER PILL;
turns out the reason you scored wasn't your sparkling wit and magnetic confidence. your partner had an ulterior motive -- they already knew it and you're about to. recon? revenge? rebound? tag and find out, if you can handle the truth!
⑨ THIS ISN'T MINE;
that sleepy person in your living room had a great night -- with your roommate. well, might as well get to know each other while you're both there, right? ... right?
⑩ WILD CARD;
roll more than once and combine scenarios, choose your favorite, or make up your own!
couldn't resist! lmk if you'd like anything changed and I'll edit!
Either way, the warmth is so nice. The air off the Pacific ports isn't nearly as nauseating as the Hudson can be when summer starts baking all the oily layers of pollution sitting on the water, and the company really can't be beat in spite of the awkward picnic conversations with family. Matt actually finds himself regretting his impending return to his city just a tiny amount, enough that he'd rescheduled his return flight (he doesn't remember doing it, but that's neither here nor there!)
When he is pulled out of his borderline blasphemous thoughts (sorry, Hell's Kitchen, love you Hell's Kitchen) by the sound of Jen's heartbeat slowly picking up speed as she wakes up, he rolls over to face her, a sleepy smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. "Morning."
no subject
As soon as she starts to speak, she makes a face at herself and then claps a hand over her mouth. Not because she sounds silly or stupid but because...
"Sorry, morning breath. I know your sensitive sniffer is probably going to pick it up and I really don't want to make a bad impression when you're laying here in my bed right now, looking like you do."
Is it ridiculous to think he would leave because of morning breath? Sure it is but she's been just being careful. She likes him and she doesn't want him to go anywhere.
Jen smiles behind her hand.
"Sleep good? I didn't kick you or anything in the middle of the night?"

He's a lot more accustomed to negative reactions to the idea of his extremely strong senses than considerate ones. Not that the very few people who know haven't had their reasons, but still. It's a breath of fresh air.
Her follow-up questions make him grin. "No, I think all my bruises are from when we were awake." Then, at the risk of sounding terribly sappy he adds: "I slept great. The sound of your heartbeat helped to make the rest of the city less... loud." The difference in the soundscape really got to him his first night in LA.

With her free hand, she reaches out and smacks him lightly in the chest before trying to pull herself closer to him since he'd said that and she's just going to try and hide her face against his shoulder.
"You're the worst. I'm trying not to blush but here you are, being sweet and cute and hot and I'm blushing. I hate you."
She does not.
no subject
The heat of her blush on his skin makes him let her hand go so he can tug the sheets up around them, and he hooks her ankle with his leg afterwards. He's sorely tempted to drift back to sleep like this, all tangled up together, but it'd probably be pretty irresponsible.
Curiously, as a non-sequitur: "What do you look like?" It's not important, but it'd still be nice to know. It might fill in some little bits and pieces of the picture he has of her in his head. "Hair color, eye color, stuff like that."
no subject
She hedges just for a second because while she knows she isn't ugly, she doesn't want to say something to him that turns him off. She doesn't think she will but, well, insecurities die hard.
And he just told her that he can tell when people are lying so honesty it is. She takes a breath and then sighs.
"Dark hair, curly. Short...ish? Down to my shoulders. I wear glasses sometimes because I'm old and my eyesight's starting to go. Uh, dark eyes. A tail. Did I mention I have a tail?"
Well, everything up to the tail part was honest!
