I hate this weather. [Rogue was used to the Southern heat, but the heat of upstate New York was something completely different. Especially given that, back in Mississippi, she'd been happy to throw on a pair of cut-offs and run around with her friends. Here? That wasn't exactly an option. She couldn't believe her ears when she actually heard the jangling chimes of an ice cream truck. She'd been walking through one of the parks, wondering if there was a sprinkler system she could throw herself over when the tune hit her ears. It was a little ways off still, but it was a welcome sound. She hoped it was heading her way, otherwise she might actually just chase off after it.

Ten minutes had the cheerfully designed truck pulling up along the sidewalk next to the park and Riley was already waiting patiently by the fence next to where it was pulling up. It wasn't an icebath, which she could so use in this heat, but it would hopefully do the trick for a small while. She noticed other people starting to line up, kids and adults alike. Ice cream was a universal treat and temperature moderator. She stepped aside to let a little girl of about four 'sneak' in front of her, giving her parent a smile that said it was okay.

It may be hot, but for Riley, it was never too hot for a run. Which would be why she was currently jogging through the woods with a small pack strapped across her back that held water and a few power bars while wearing jogging shorts and a tank top. It was too hot to run in sweats, so she conceded with lighter attire as a compromise.

The heat didn't filter down quite as badly through the canopy of trees, the main reason she'd chosen to run in the woods. Her footfalls were quiet as she ran through the trees, avoiding the small gnarls of roots sticking out in an attempt to trip her. She ducked under a low hanging branch, keeping close to the trees as she moved quickly past them.

She could pick up a familiar scent as she ran, wondering if she was close to where the werewolf she'd met earlier lived. His scent was old and settled in some of the places she ran past, letting her know he'd been here long before she'd ever set foot in Beacon Hills. She wondered if she'd run into him and if he'd have a problem with her skirting around his territory.

When she complains about the heat though, he pads off to the kitchen and comes back with a surprise he prepared for her. He picks a dark cream colored ice cube from the bowl he brought with him and trails it over her lips.]
