( Dream doesn’t so much as stand as he leers over Adam like a street sign. Something so innately obvious and yet if one were to try and read the sign, they wouldn’t be able to make out the words. That is to say, Adam can see Dream for what he is, but he can’t quite make out what exactly defines the Dream Lord; only that, Dream wears a black trench coat that seems to stretch out around him like roots settled in the ground, a mess of black hair over paraffin skin and two black eyes, void of any natural white sclera, with gold stars shimmering tentatively where the iris and pupil ought to be. Adam will see Dream, he will even know Dream as the Lord of the Dreaming.
However, for Adam’s question, the man will find the answer – only if he chooses to look for the signs.
