Anywhere you are, I’m home, too.

| You're about to go off the rails. No, no "about," actually. You've left that train track fair behind, and you're crazy. Rage fills every inch of you, and there's no doubt you're about to do something dangerous, stupid, or reckless. Or all three. There's only one person who can calm you down: your partner. Now, they're using closeness, reassurance, or physical intimacy to remind you what really matters, which is the two of you. Surely, this will bring you back, letting the anger ebb out and you'll be able to think straight again, even if your lover was the actual cause of all this mess. Won't it? Surely you won't direct your wrath towards them, no matter what.

Down to maybe do a little Claire having an existential crisis about longevity and Adams there to soothe in probably the most unhelpful ways because of his lack of bedside manner? I know its trope trash but... I am trash -.-;;]

It was late at night when he'd gotten the series of texts, one right after another. A flurry of anger and frustration line after line. But despite growing culturally used to having this tiny computer attached to him he didn't particularly like it and eventually he had to tell the sender that this wasn't going to work out.
If she wanted to speak about this, it was going to have to be in person and he would come to her.
The good news was she was in the city, the bad news was she was on the outskirts of it. He made his way across down realising that next time she really ought to come to him. The good news was it was so late, or early depending on how you wanted to consider around three am, that there was barely anyone on the road. Occasionally only having to skirt around a cab or two. Once at the address the other had given him he found parking easily enough. Getting to the door in the space she was currently bunked down in and giving it a few firm, yet quieter, knocks.
It was clear she hadn't really disturbed him from much. Despite the hour he was still completely dressed up as though he either had come from somewhere nice or had plans immediately afterwards. The only hint that perhaps it was after hours was that his suit jacket currently remained unbuttoned. When she answers the door he will offer a genuine smile.
There is admittedly something different about Claire. Perhaps it's her personality. Perhaps it's just the simple nature of the fact that Claire is just like him, stuck now in a moment of time. She's still so new to it and already she has grievances. He had been there, many years before, and while he would never admit it he would have given anything to have someone walk him through those paths. Perhaps that was the biggest reason he was here now. Unsure of entirely how much he has to offer in ways of 'help', but he was here. And it was a start.
"Thank you for allowing me to come over, that was... A lot." He admits gesturing to his phone which he delicately taps into the breast pocket sewn into the inside of his suitcoat. "First and foremost... Are you okay?" What a double sided question, the answer is likely no. All things considered, however it was something that he felt as though he should ask.

Unfortunately for both of them, her existential crises generally don't hit until the wee hours of the morning, when everyone else is asleep and she's left alone with her thoughts. She hadn't expected him to try and help her immediately; if he had wanted to wait until a more reasonable hour, she would have understood. But here he is in her latest safehouse, and she's more grateful than she can say.
"Yeah, sorry. And thank you. It probably could've waited, but I'm glad you came," Claire tells him, sighing. "I'm okay in that I'm not in danger or anything? At least not currently in danger. I was just sitting here thinking, and inevitably my mind goes to all those weird places, all of those questions and worries. I panicked a little."
Maybe more than a little, given the barrage of texts she'd sent. Her impulsive nature often leads to these kinds of questionable decisions. Then again, texting Adam in the middle of the night is far less harmful than her usual ways of dealing with her issues.
"I've never had anyone I could really talk to about this kind of stuff, you know? No one else would understand, not the way you do." She pauses, suddenly feeling a little guilty. It's a lot to put on him. Still, Claire feels like she understands Adam enough to know he wouldn't be there unless he chooses to be. So he must want to help her, on some level. That's a comforting thought.
"Does it ever stop feeling like a burden?"

Eric, it's alright... He's just an idiot and doesn't deserve an iota of your attention. He's just a moron. [The last word is said over her shoulder, towards the man who'd smarted off to the Viking vampire to begin with.]
