sleeping with ghosts —
You can't help who you fall in love with. But what if the person you fall for is no longer a person? Perhaps they were, once; those days have gone. All that's left is a memory. Is that something you can put to rest, or will you keep them with you and away from their final resting place?
- Comment with your character and preferences. Mention if you'd prefer to play the living, the dead, or either.
- Reply to others. You can use the RNG or not, if you'd wish. Make up your own additional prompts, scenes, scenarios, and such.
- Dead Lover — No wonder they have unfinished business with you. You were theirs in life, and they're not about to let you go.
- Tethered to You — In life, you didn't know each other, but now their ghost is connected to you, and you to them.
- The Sight — You're the only one who can see them, the only one in the world to them, now.
- Haunted Home — There's something wrong with your house. Can you reclaim it? Do you want to get rid of your companion?
- Peace to the Vengeful — All you wanted to do was do a kind deed and help them achieve peace, not become eternally grateful.
- Remember — Both of you are bound and determined to find out who you were as a living mortal. The knowledge might tear you apart.
- Different Time, Different Place — This ghost is of a person who's a bit...antiquated compared to you. Careful, they may want to court you. It certainly makes things awkward when they see how you dress.
- Jealousy — Lights burst, glass cracks, and the whole place goes cold when someone with a pulse smiles at you.
- Protection — You'll risk your afterlife for the one you love.
- Confession — If you can communicate vocally, confessions are easy. If you can't talk, that's a whole other kettle of fish.
- The Challenge of Intimacy — Ghost makes it look so easy. You want to reach out and touch them, but you can't always do that.
- Manifestation — Your emotions have temporarily given you a physical form.
- Keeping You Here — The living's affection keeps the dead in the mortal coil.
- Decay — The longer they stay with you, the more of a violent wraith, disconnected from their past, they become.
- Passing — You have to let them go, even if they don't want to.
- Just Like Heaven — You'll work together to find a way to bring you back to life.
- ANYTHING ELSE?

for @forfeited
It wasn't her first thought upon realizing that she had thoughts, but it's the one that keeps returning to the forefront of her mind. And it isn't even so much that it looks exactly like it, but more the feeling of it. It's broad daylight, though, not the Dark Hour, and-- well, she's not really here. Again, more a sense than a fact. There's a part of her that feels like threads around her heart, tying her to Gekkoukan. Not so much that she can't move, but enough that she knows where it is at all times. Which makes sense. She did die there, after all.
Maybe she's like Ryoji- -- before he was Ryoji, before he was the Appriser, he was just Pharos, a cryptic little boy who showed up during the Dark Hour delivering messages and warnings. That wouldn't be so bad, if she could give them to her friends. For now, maybe she's supposed to seek out whoever the next savior of humanity is and help them. There's something bitter-tasting about that, something she locks deep into her heart to think about later as she taps her foot and gazes up at the strange construction-site-that's-not-Tartarus.
Without someone's bed to appear at the side of, she's taken to lurking around this strange place in the vague hope that whoever she's meant to aid, or guide, or -- whatever -- is drawn to it just like she'd felt drawn to Tatsumi Port Island last year. If it was last year. It could be years for all she knows.
Oh. There's someone gazing up at that thing. He can definitely see it. From around the pillar she'd been hiding behind, she lunges out with both hands cupped around her mouth.]
Boo!!
[It hadn't worked the first five times, but they say sixth time's the charm, right? And she hasn't gotten tired of it yet.]
days late without starbucks
[So if he spent a fair amount of time coming by here and just leering at a structure no one else could see, well. No one else could see what he was leering at, so it didn't really matter. No one else cared, for that matter-- they were all perfectly happy in this wretchedly false actualization of a madman's stance on a world without pain.]
[Suffice to say he's quite caught up in his head and his thoughts when Kotone lunges forward and hollers at him. To his credit, he does not shout about it, but he certainly does rattle three steps to the right, fully expecting to turn a tired frown on the giggling visage of Yoshizawa Sumire. She was prone to these little tricks, on occasion, he'd found, and he couldn't quite be annoyed about it because despite himself, it was nice to see her having a good time.]
[But this was very much not Sumire, and he very much did not know this girl, actually. So with a disgruntled clearing of his throat, he rolls his shoulders and tries to recover from the absolute embarrassment of being actively startled in public.] Begging your pardon, but do you make a habit of harassing strangers in public?
no subject
Usually after I hang out with them enough times, they thank me for it, [she admits readily, looking him up and down with a soft hm! of interest.] What were you looking at?
no subject
Consider perhaps you should write off people glaring at things you can't see as insane and not bother them.
no subject
I can see it. [Matter-of-fact.] I just don't know what it is.
no subject
What, exactly, can you see? [Because he isn't going to detail it, but if she can see it-- what exactly does that mean?]
no subject
Some hazy white tower with spotlights and lots of... scaffolding, I guess?
[She takes a few steps closer and stands on tip-toe as if to try to look from his perspective.] Do you think it's beautiful or ugly?
no subject
Absolutely hideous. [No hesitation.] But that's because I know what it is. From an architectural standpoint... [He tries to find something beautiful about it.] ...no, it's still ugly.
no subject
[Her eyes sparkle a bit with mirth as she gazes up at him. He's kind of frank, really, which is a little funny. Maybe she shouldn't actively be seeking out this stranger's buttons, but-- well. It's been a while and he looks like a really easy mark.]
So what makes you think it's so ugly?
no subject
[He blusters at her absolutely Joker-like demeanor, ruffled beyond words, and makes a disgruntled huff of sound in the back of his throat.] It's the creation of a wretched piece of shit with a God complex, and it emulates his desire to seem disarming while manipulating the greater populace entirely perfectly.
[Speaking of... He slides a frown back to her.] Who are you? [Because if she isn't affected by Maruki's actualization... He isn't actually sure what that means, but surely it means something.]
no subject
[She chews on that for a moment as some of the mirth fades. Her brow furrows as she gazes up at it; it's certainly not Tartarus, but it has the same kind of oppressive air the Dark Hour had, like if she stepped the wrong way she'd slide into another world. The Nyx Annihilation Team hadn't failed, she knows that, but...
There's something welling up in the center of her chest, some weird cocktail of bitter anger at the unfairness of it all that even after everything, people can still be manipulated. If this guy is right about what he's saying, of course.
Oh, but wait. He'd asked her a question, hadn't he? In a heartbeat, her smile is back on her face as if it had never vanished.] Kotone Shiomi. I was a second year at Gekkoukan High. Who're you?
