[ gin opens her mouth, closes it. surely a parent should know a little more about the growth cycles of their children??? does their mother know? where is their mother? does she even want to ask these questions?


no. the answer is no, not ever. ] You could open bank accounts for them, for their studies and any things they might need in future. If you're ever not... around or for emergencies. [ practical uses for a lot of money- her brother with his substantial salary has made a point of buying Expensive things. gin is more conservative in her approach but she doesn't earn as much. ]

[Not that he'd tell he about the additional weapons' cache they would inherit but Gin probably didn't mean that.

[ gin looks surprised (frankly, weapons' cache wouldn't be that weird of a thing to have in store as part of an inheritance but she's not even thinking about that). ]

You're more responsible than I assumed.

[Reaching over, he pinched Gin's nose.]

[ congratulations, urahara you ruined it.

gin goes from suspicious to surprised to reaction— she bypasses the urge to smack his wrist as if he were a threat and instead pinches his cheek, hard.

what gin is saying is that she's not going to let him tease her as much anymore. or that's what she'd like to say but...(losing game). ]

[See, now she's getting it!!!]

No, you're supposed to pinch my nose.

[That was a big bruise.]

[ thanks now it is back to looking flustered and mortified. she doesn't want to pinch his nose, she didn't even want to pinch his cheek. that had not been a good decision and gin drops her hand to instead swat at him to let go of her nose so she can talk without sounding weird.

well, weirder and more high pitch than usual. ]

[hatician]

My apologies. [Not that he let her go all that cleanly, even with the swatting in mind. Kisuke released her nose with a little 'pop' he made with his lips.]

Oh. Ow. That pinch hurt quite a lot, actually!

[cloths]

Did it...? Sorry. [ she looks genuinely contrite, even as she reaches to tap her nose just to be sure there are no further tricks involved. never knowing what to expect is as amusing as it is terrifying (for her sense of dignity anyway though they are long past that). ]

[hatician]

What are you doing, apologizing? [He lifted his hand to pat his cheek. When he drew his hand away, there was an oversized smiley-face sticker hiding the bruise.]

You shouldn't, especially if I make you unhappy. I shouldn't be the exception!

[cloths]

[ but... the painful truth is that he is the exception. for her anyway.

gin's eyes flick to the sticker now over his cheek, a smile hidden behind a delicate hand before it's gone and she is shaking her head. ] You...pinched my nose you didn't punch me. It's fine.

[ ho boy..... ]

[hatician]

I hardly regret teasing you, so don't worry that I'll suddenly stop now.

[How was this reassuring?]

But, I suppose I could be a little sweeter about it if you'd like... just so you're not misconstruing my intentions, of course.

[He sighed, simply appreciating that smooth transition of hers.

The point had been pushed aside briefly for--]

I don't know what you mean. [ but she's trying not to get teased again, so instead she pinches the sleeve of his haori. ]

[oh no that was cute

He produced a little cat sticker, stolen right from Ururu's coloring book, and left it on the back of Gin's hand.

Part of it was an experiment.]

[cloths]

[ she almost draws back in surprise but once she realizes it's a sticker her surprise gives way to a small smile as she examines it.

for a moments she feels so unbearably fond before that's tucked away. ]

Did you steal this from Ururu-chan?

[ an attempt at admonishment that is eclipsed by the smile. ]

[A sly little smile crossed him. At least someone appreciated his sense of proportion... a little. It was also a little difficult to tease Gin when she was like that.

Not that he wouldn't.]

Oh, she's just at the age where she's 'too big for stickers'. Not too old to color, it seems.

[It was probably a little too easy to forget he took care of two children.]

Have you told her you can't be 'too big for stickers'? [ gin looks at the cat sticker on the back of her hand. it's really cute, the type of sticker she'd squirrel away in-between the pages of a notebook or as a bookmark away from prying eyes.

frankly, it was too easy, way too easy to forget that he is technically raising two children. gin standards for children are very low: warm place to sleep, and food. the rest are bonuses, so truly she's not likely to be too scandalized by urahara's child-rearing techniques. ]

[The perfect response. He practically lit up at the suggestion.]

Oh, she'd certainly have a fit.

[Well. As much as Ururu was capable of having a 'fit' given how solemn and quiet she could be. He would still be able to tell. Powerfully sharp and intrusive, he leaned over her shoulder.]

Well, if she doesn't want the stickers, I certainly don't mind them. [ she's going to regret those words, isn't she?

gin shifts, just enough so they're far too close to look simply casual. ] Very cute, thank you, Urahara-san.

[It was already too late to backpedal. Cogs were turning.

Fortunately, his ideas were on the mild side when the incentive was 'Gin likes stickers'.]

Oh? I'll say, I was wondering if you'd have expected a more catastrophic result!

With you? I'll never discount that possibility. [ but she still kisses his cheek now that they're in close proximity and she only needs to stand on tip-toes to do so. ]

I'm going to get Ururu-chan some colouring books with stickers, what do you think?

[The interesting thing about acts had been--it was extremely difficult to blush on command. Kisuke fanned himself appropriately, looking as pleased with himself as he could with all his obfuscating accessories in mind.]

You'd rapidly become her favorite, of course. It's expected that I'd get them for her so it's nothing special.
