Of course he says that, he's a workaholic. But take Leslie for example, she's the queen of having hobbies that don't have any use.
Making kombucha, macrame, pour art painting, cross stitch, miniatures, gardening, the list keeps going.

[His tone is slightly exasperated but there's a hint of fondness to it.]

Anyways, is there anything else you think we should list?

[but he wants a logical answer. a reason why it would be good for him too.]

I dunno, I've never done this before. What else am I supposed to be doing?

[Nate would also like a logical answer when it comes to Leslie but there isn't really one, so instead he looks back at their list.]

Yeah it does seem like kind of a lot.

[he almost suggests drinking but he doesn't really want to keep track of that.]

So do you check in with this every day before bed?

Yes, usually before I turn in I just open it up, fill in the squares and head to bed. It's nice because it doesn't take up a lot of time.

I always need something to help wind me back down after patrol anyways. I'm way too hyped up to sleep.

[Nate closes his journal and leans forward to put it on the coffee table.]

So does that mean that after we finish our gig tonight you're going to keep me up for the rest of the night?

[Jason turns back to the first page or his journal and scribbles his name in the top corner.

he likes that it's his. And also if Alfred or Bruce come across it and see his name inside he hopes they won't look further than that.]

Yup, probably. I mean, we can totally go out afterwards anyway right? Live it up in NYC a little?

That depends on what you mean by 'live it up', don't forget that I'm an old man.

Oh come on, Nate. You're not that old. Look at you.

[he waves his hand at Nate.]

You're like, all fit and young looking and sexy. Bet you could party all night.

I'm in my 40's Jason and I don't really like many people, thus I tend to not really be the 'party' type.

[Jason shrugs at that, setting his notebook down on the table and moves to lay back a little on the couch, poking Nate with his toe.]

We always have a good time together.

ooc: figured we would jump ahead a little to them getting ready for their night out?

We'll see how we feel after work.

[And speaking of work for the rest of the day that's pretty much what Nate does, sitting quietly on the couch with his laptop while he allows Jason full control of the TV. Around lunch he takes Jason out to a nearby pizza place and when they get back he continues to work. Around 4pm though he closes his laptop and clears his throat.]

We should start getting ready for tonight, you'll find a spare towel in the bathroom.

[there is no way that Jason sits there watching TV the whole time, so Nate probably had to find something more for him to do than that, even with taking him out to get pizza for lunch... which is the best pizza he's ever had.

and then if Nate doesn't find any other suggestions for Jason he probably pestered him till 4pm.

remember. Jason doesn't do great with sitting still, especially if he's being ignored.]

Dude it'll take me like ten minutes tops to get ready.

[Somehow Nate endures Jason's pestering and manages to get his work done, giving Jason small tasks and plenty of dry looks. When Jason tells him it will take ten minutes to get ready he shakes his head.]

It takes you normally ten minutes but tonight you're not just wearing a hoodie and jeans. You need to look like every other rich kid there. Go shower, shave, floss and put on some of the cologne in the black bottle.
Call me when that's done and we'll try to style your hair.

Uuugh you want me to put on some lip gloss too?

[he regrets it as a soon as he says it cause some of those rich housewives sons definitely did.]

What's the cologne in the black bottle?

[he drags his fingers through his hair, standing up.]

Good luck, Alfred barely managed to style my hair and he has to use straightener.

[Sorry Jason, this is all part of it.]

It's my personal cologne, don't worry it's not overly strong. You won't smell like an old man.

[Nate looks at Jason's curls.]

I'm not going to even try and straighten it, I'm just going to shape it.

Fine, make sure it's nice and sparkly. My lips deserve to shine.

[he says in the most bratty way possible, grabbing clean underwear and an undershirt out of his bag.]

Wasn't worried about smelling like old man. Is this underwear ok? Bruce got it for me so I'm sure it's like $170 a pair.

[Jason just shrugs and head towards the bathroom, calling out.]

It'll never work! My hair's wild and free, just like me!

[Nate just snorts in response and motions for Jason to go into the bathroom.

While he's in there he lays out Jason's new suit, the shoes and a pair of dress socks for him. He considers the whole outfit carefully and then goes into a box and adds a watch and two rings.]

[he showers, shaves and flosses, smelling the cologne before he puts it on. it's actually really nice and he doesn't mind wearing it. it's Nate's sometimes scent so that's nice too.

when he finishes up he comes back out, pointing to his messy hair.]

When this dries you're dead. You need like one of those curl mousse shits or I don't even know. Molly tried one time.

[Nate gets up off the couch and comes into the bathroom with Jason, motioning for him to sit on the toilet while he gets out a few bottles of product.]

Molly and Alfred have never had to deal with Asian hair their whole life.

[He muses and squirts a creamy mixture onto a comb which he then runs through Jason's hair a few times. From there he moves in close, using his hands to shape and mold things, not working against Jason's curls but with them.]

[ he sits down on the toilet, watching Nate take out hair products and gives a small smile. there's something really nice about this. something really sweet and domestic. is it possible to miss something you never had? Jason isn't sure, but he's feeling it a little now. ]

I thought Asian hair was like, super straight and manageable?

[he keeps his eyes on Nate as the other works on his hair. it feels good.]

You're good at this, huh.

It can be, but it can also be thick and prone to fluffing up in strange ways.

[He explains as he works, smoothing down the sides and back but then roughing up the front part of Jason's hair.]

Of course. From a young age I was taught to always look presentable.
