The Time Travel Meme
The Time Travel Meme
Have you ever wanted your characters to go see the dinosaurs, or be part of the Time Patrol, or go find their True Love in a different era? Or maybe play out the Back To The Future scenario, and have to go and save their parent's marriage? Here is your chance!
[How To]
1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc. Please also write down preferences, scenarios, etc in the comment box)
2. Another character tags yours. Congrats, now your character is either time traveling, or dealing with a time traveler! (Having both characters be time travelers is fine, too.)
3. Thread, tag and have fun!
[How The Multiverse Works]
1. Time Paradox What Time Paradox? : It's impossible to change history, the only thing that would happen if you went and killed your grandfather is that a new Timeline in which your grandfather was killed would branch off from the original one. The good thing - You can't mess your own Timeline's history up, while you can try to create new Timelines in which things go more to your liking. On the other hand, you can't fix your own history, either.
2. Yes, You Can Change History : And if you mess things up, things wouldn't be pretty.
3. Something Else
[Sample Scenarios]
1. To Make Right What Once Went Wrong - At a certain point in their past, things went really wrong for them. Can they make things better, this time around?
2. The Road Not Traveled - Now they have a chance to do something different, and steer their lives, and maybe the world, along a different path...
3. Saving The World - The world was heading toward hell in a handbasket in their 'previous life'. Can they make things better, this time around?
4. We Just Wanna Get Rich, Man - They just want to use their 'future knowledge' to make a ton of money, and/or get popular and famous, etc, etc.
5. We Are The Time Tourists - So you want to go see the dinosaurs, or the mammoths, or any other historical event? The choices are endless...
6. We Are The Time Patrol - And we don't want unauthorized people muckling around with the timelines, either!
7. On To The Future - Never mind going to the past, we want to go to the future. Those descendants of ours had better not mucked everything up...
8. Honey, I Think I Broke History - You went back into the past, and history changed - and not in the ways you'd consider good. What do you do now?
9. Time Travel Romance - Finding True Love, via Time Travel.
10. We Just Invented A Time Machine - And now we want to try it out. Please forgive us if we break the universe by mistake, OK?

They were both a bit occupied, at the moment.

"Evie O'Neill, your savior for the evening. And don't worry about the leg. I'm sure I can cook up plenty of ways for you to pay me back for my generous help."
no subject
"Are you staying here, at this hotel?" At least he recognized the sort of place, even if the decor was... well, rather garish. Where in the world was he, exactly? America somewhere, he was sure, but beyond that, he could only guess.

Evie led him to the stack of crates that came from the hotel's kitchen.
"Here's the spot. So what are you doing? Trying to find the match to this one? Like losing a glove, isn't it?"
no subject
He dusted his hands off a little, eying the "hiding place" with some misgivings, but it was likely the best they could manage. "Thank you, miss O'Niel. I appreciate the help."
no subject
"Gee whiz, that is pos-i-tute-ly terrible! How are you going to look for them? Can I help?"
no subject
" ... if you swear to keep anything you learn a secret. I am not likely to be well-received here, and I would prefer to keep a low profile."
If she promised, and he thought she seemed sincere, he'd tell her how he was tracking the thing. Only then.

"Cross my heart, hope to die. Stick a needle in my eye," she promised, looking serious yet eager at being included in this scheme.
"Why wouldn't you be well-received? Because you're English?" As far as Evie knew, Americans liked the Brits, because they owed a lot in war debts or something. But she figured it was the least they could do when people like her brother had given their lives in the fields of France.
Evie obviously had a limited worldview, that usually came down to how things related to her in some fashion.
sorry for the delay! vacation and stuff ^^'
He had considered not telling her, of course. But it would become obvious quickly should they actually work together for any length of time, he was sure.

"Werewolves aren't thought of at all, outside of stories."

"Only in films like Nosferatu."
Though she found it funny, that these creatures were apparently real where he was from. Not impossible, not strange, just... funny.
"I've got a secret too, but you have to promise to keep your lips sealed. You promise?"

And that was annoying her at the moment. Maybe in the meantime she could help this werewolf with his case.
"You wouldn't happen to have anything of the person you're looking for, do you?"

He was certainly curious what her talent would look like in action, and she could probably get something, if it were a true gift, even if it wasn't necessarily useful for finding the other.

"But I'll try. As long as this thing has one owner, I should be able to see things."
no subject
((the owner being a French woman by the name of Geneveive Lefoux who likes dressing as a man and kissing ladies, but likes tinkering and inventing even more. feel free to make up something about the thief bashing her over the head while she was working on this machine, or somesuch, if you wanna help the meme-time-plot along? XD ))

Evie gasped, letting her hands fall away.
"She got knocked out," she said, putting a hand up to her head in the place she'd been struck. "I couldn't see much, just a tan glove and a brown jacket sleeve. Sorry."
