[ As cunning and calculating as the demon king can be, Oh Kangwoo is finding that his first date in over 10,000 years isn't going exactly as he's planned.

Sure, he'd managed to prepare as much as he could beforehand, having felicitously gone on a shopping spree the day before. Why? To celebrate, because it also happened to be the same day his guild, Red Rose, had graciously bequeathed him two sets of keys: one to his sweet new luxury condo, the other for his equally sweet, equally new luxury car.

The latter was the first miscalculation in his plan. See, while Red Rose had ultimately fulfilled his request to grant him a luxury vehicle, the only one they had in stock was a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class. A freaking G-Wagon SUV, the chariot of rich Karens and entitled suburban moms everywhere. Not exactly the impression he'd intended to give when he arrived to pick up Sae.

The second thing to go wrong was the awkward silence throughout the ride to the Korean BBQ restaurant. While Kangwoo thought he looked good -- black and white varsity jacket over a plain white t-shirt, faded blue straight-leg jeans with the hem cuffed tastefully over a pair of dark brown chelsea boots, a blue pilot watch on his left wrist and a grey oversized, overpriced pom beanie atop his head to tie it all together -- and thought he smelled good -- Dior Homme eau for men, not that overplayed Sauvage shit -- too, he still couldn't help but feel like a creep.

Because Sae looked so lovely and adorable in her cute dress, which somehow made her look even younger than she already was, and Kangwoo was constantly reminded of the sizeable age gap between them (approx. 10,010 years) every time he looked at her. So, unfortunately, he ended up keeping his eyes on the road the entire time, keeping silent as trendy and edgy dark synthwave played from his car stereo.

But Kangwoo is resilient. As soon as the couple arrives at their destination, he resolves to turn things around and have fun with his date. 'She's legal... just barely... so it's a-okay,' he tells himself as he takes a seat right beside her at their booth table, taking the lead when it comes to ordering their food. He selects a bunch of different meats and marinades, a bottle of soju and whatever non-alcoholic beverage Sae wanted, and an order of sundubu-jjigae with egg on top to share.

Once their order is taken and the waitress walks off, Kangwoo turns his attention towards Sae, playfully poking her thigh under the table. ]

Sooooo... [ He removes his beanie and runs his fingers through his messy dark locks so that his hat-hair isn't so obvious, the gas grill built into the middle of their table sizzling to life. ] You play any games, Sae?

[ Because that's the thing he's noticed with modern humans: most, if not all of them, play video games, so he figures it's a safe topic to bring up. ]

[Sae feels like she's attributed a lot to the awkwardness that stained the air around them. It wasn't like it could be helped- her selective mutism made it difficult for her to really speak anyways and although she did communicate with her phone, she knows it just wasn't the same if the words were to come out of her mouth. Her eyes take in the cozy and warm atmosphere of the BBQ restaurant, the background chatter of people talking and laughing, and the music.

She jumps at the poke to her thigh, peering over at Kangwoo curiously. Her fingers smooth out the ends of her dress, the tiny woman perking up at his words. Oh that was something she could definitely talk about.]

Mhm! [Her wings give a tremble underneath her jacket although it isn't very visible, hands tucking some hair away from her face.] ..Rythm games! Catchy songs. [Sae chirps this happily as she unlocks her phone, showing off one of her apps. She also had a couple of other games installed, like a few open-world MMOs. There was even one that looked like a farming-type simulator. Sae was a simple girl with a simple love of games that weren't too overly stressful or gory- It was better that way since she would rather avoid anything triggering her PTSD.]

S'very fun! [Sae tugs her glass of water over to take a small sip, Sae shifting to happily bump her knee into his own. The touch sends a warmth through her body at the physical contact, the red on her cheeks deepening.] What about you?
