[ Jill wouldn't disagree with this either but she decides to be more delicate with her approach. ]

Your eyes.

[ As ever it's what draws her in among several other qualities. She's not always the best at drawing attention to this sort of thing, but she'll try. And maybe she'll eventually get around to letting him in that his butt's pretty cute to boot. ]

It's one of my physical qualities that wasn't affected by the flame, so I'm not surprised.

[ But it doesn't bother him. He doesn't take it as offensive and she's definitely not going to dance around the subject of his burns, either. If she says it's his eyes, it's his eyes. ]

[ She offers a light smile to the best that she can while ducking her head slightly. It's more than what's usually afforded in her situation to which she's grateful to be granted a moment to be more herself. ]

There's, ah, other parts about you that are attractive.

[ This time she puts a hand to lightly touch the back of her neck. ]

Your compliment or my eyes? I don't think either is incorrect for the record.

[ He takes it to heart and it's honestly cute to him but he's not sure how to respond beyond what he already has. He's not exactly the most well-versed in being considered attractive. ]

I appreciate anything you have to say, Jill. You don't need me to tell you, but you're an attractive woman.

I believe we both know you will get nothing but honesty from me. [ Albeit, sometimes reserved. She wants to reassure him nonetheless. ] But you're not wrong. I find your eyes to be honest as much as they're welcoming.

[ Jill inches closer as if some magnetic force was drawing her in. It's when he compliments her in turn she almost stiffens on instinct. Joshua was the only one to show her kindness in the years she's been in captivity but the compliment still takes her by surprise. She almost wants to reapply a touch to her neck but withholds for now, stopping where she is just out of arm's reach. ]

I... don't always feel it.

[ Nor does she know how to take the compliment. Unfortunately, it's easier for her to respond to violence these days and she feels at a loss of words. She eventually does muster up a response however. ]

Of course. I wouldn't expect anything less of you. [ He never expects more, though. She delivers on "more" but he doesn't expect it from her. ] I'm not always looking for my eyes to tell the truths I may not speak.

[ For example, his interest in her as more than just a comrade. He doesn't mean to look at her sexually when he knows they're comrades and for that matter, that they have a trust that shouldn't be built on attraction, but it can't be helped. He's not blind, after all.

He goes for her hand, albeit awkwardly with his fingers on her wrist before swerving around to cup her knuckles in his palm. ]

I wouldn't say something I didn't mean. I'm attracted to you in more than one way. I apologize if my attention causes discomfort.

Understood. If it were such always it could stand to be a problem.

[ You don't want your enemies especially to be knowing what you're thinking. Jill trusts him but there are some things she'd prefer to keep hidden. The more ugly sides she's eluded to but wouldn't want to expose him to, to the more vulnerable parts that want and need. She's not sure it goes both ways but with how he's talking to her now she's afraid it might go there. It's nice as much as it scares her to a degree. Jill hadn't been touched in kind in that way since before Wesker, and even then it was a hug or a touch of fingertips in passing; A kiss on the cheek that was chaste, but never eluding to more.

His touch elicits something in her and she first tentatively puts a hand over his in turn before settling more earnest. It's warm even between the gloves and bandages. She wants more though and briefly considers a moment later. ]

Don't be. I... [ She hesitates wanting to remove the gloves but she knows in order to do so she'd have to remove part of the suit in a state of undress. It's frustrating and she's sure Wesker deliberately designed it this way so it would be difficult. It'd be a lie that she wasn't starved for touch, but she doesn't want to give the wrong impression as much as she'd be willing to acquiesce to him. For now her grip tightens and it's in her eyes that she says more. ] My feelings aren't dissimilar. I want to touch you, Joshua.

[ Jill means it literally and more than through gloves. But there's something to suggest she means more and attraction wasn't just his eyes or a kind look. ]

I'm afraid I've become more expressive with them over time.

[ It was hard not to when it was the only thing you could really see from him. His mouth could be seen occasionally shifting, but it's not always easy to tell even if he's smiling widely. Jill can read him for the most part just fine and he's open to that, although there is the fear that what he really feels deep down toward her won't be reciprocated.

He allows her to touch him, contentedly sighing as he scoops her hand up and presses it to his hidden mouth, going for her knuckles first. It's not just a platonic gesture or one of admiration, though it's part of it. ]

You know what I look like beneath these. [ He starts over his fingers, letting go of her hand to slowly unwrap his hand just enough that it's almost completely bare. He hesitates, lifting his hand and pausing before he goes to her cheek and cups it. Joshua wants so much more. ] I still have feeling in my body, but my appearance is closer to that of a ghoul now.

[ What he means to say is that he's not suited to someone like her, even if he wants to be. ]
